I keep seeing the term "de-badged" used when people describe their Vibe. How do you remove the badge with no paint damage. I would to be rid of the "Pontiac", "Vibe" and "GT" badge from my 2009. Thanks for any info.

fishing line and goo-gone ... easy peasy... unless they are pinned on the new 09'sPinned='s small pin extending from the badge threw the sheetmetal. If you were to take those off there would be a hole left in the car

I can't say about cars but on motorcycles, heat is applied with a heat gun then fishing line is worked between the badge and the paint. Use the fishing line like a saw moving the line back and forth. Once the badge is off, use a cleaning product to remove any residue.

usually you heat the badge with a blow dryer then use fishing line or floss to get it off. then use goo gone or bug remover to get the sticky crap off then you have to wax that part of the car reeeeaaaalll good.

no need for heat gun...on my old car i left it outside in the sun and during my lunch break at about 90degrees i just used my pocket knife and pry the badges off...took about 5 minutes for the letters and another 10-15 minutes for the left over glue...got a nice sunburn too

Thanks for the info and I'm not doing this because I am "ashamed" of what I drive, just think it would look better.

less wax build up.. and less places for the finish to rust

I'll probably debadge my 07 Vibe soon. I'm not ashamed of what I drive. It's just a pain to get the wax off around the badges. I'm also a little annoyed with the pink arrowhead on the back. I wonder how long it would have taken me to notice that if I wasn'y a member of this forum ....I intend to park the car in the sun & use dental floss or fishing line.
