Where's my handle?

Why doesn't the Vibe (and most cars for that matter) have that handle up above the door like the other three doors have? And what's the real purpose of that handle anyway? I just use them to hang clothes, I've never seen anyone actually use it for anything else.

when you take a sharp curve it gives others a handle to hold on to. the driver should have both hands on the wheel.

Its really pointless for the driver's door to even have one. You should be keeping both hands on the steering wheel...

They're technically there to help passengers have something to hold on to should they need help getting out of the vehicle. But yes, their main purpose seems to be used as the oh **** handle. The first gen Vibe *does* have the bits underneath to bolt the handle to if you get another one, if I'm remembering correctly. Or do like jeffgtx did back in the day and throw an Aveo sunglass holder up there. As far as all 4 being there on the '09, I did notice that about the '09 too... They would be handy to have every so often.

I like the fact that the 09s have them on all doors... they are handy handles to have the way I drive.

It is mainly used for ease of getting in and out of the car.

and the reason you have the Dent for where one would be is the Toyota Voltz where that side would be the passenger side and it would have a handle.

Iam so glad the vibe does not have one for the drivers side......grrrr...myu 98 honda accord has one.....and i hit my head on it at least once everytime i drive it.I know the accord is suppose to be for old ppl,and its there to help them get in and out.the car is very low to the ground.but it is not needed and would love to remove it.So happy its not there on the vibe.

I do not like the sight of them while driving and have never needed it. My Jeep has all four but are mounted to the roof and out of the way!

my STi has one oddly enough on the driver's side and I'm always smacking my head against it when wearing my autocross helmet.
