I have never used a high-pressure washer, but this thread may be able to help you out as well:http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=859

I tried it on my old one. I didn't use a lot of pressure meaning I never used the trigger when I rinse it down. I only covered up the battery with a towel and left the engine running while hot.

Didn't you get a lot of water spots? Usually if you spray water on it while hot, the water will evaporate very quickly and leave lots of water spots behind. Also, I have been told by mechanics to never spray water into an alternator while the engine is running.

not reallyand I covered the alternator too pretty much anything considered electrical ( on the right side of the car facing the front of the engine)
