Did my first change on the wife's Vibe.It is true, the factory installed oil filter was installed using level 5 thread-lok.I removed the cooling fan assembly to get better access to the filter. There were 2 10mm bolts and 2 wire harness clips and the fan electrical connector and disconnect the overflow hose.5 minutes tops to remove.Lots more room.I used a small bottle jack to gain a little more space under the car.My arms are short and I'm not as thin as I once was.Oil drain plug needs a 14mm box wrench.Used this filter wrench.http://www.channellock.com/acb...5.cfmAbout 4.5 quarts of Super Tech 5w30 synthetic.Used Super Tech filter ST4967.My oil change intervals will be 4000-4500 miles.

the first time the oil filter needs to be changed does tend to be the most difficult. After that it's easy.I too have been working on my wife's car.. not a vibe though a cavalier. Did a coolant flush and fill changed all the rubber coolant hoses and thermostat. Recharged her air conditioning. Tomorrow... bleed the brake lines, fluid change...
