http://www.edmunds.com/pontiac....htmlanyone read this review yet? so far their review sounds better than that of the 09 corolla xrs that i was wanting to get at one point...but from their review the vibe only got 19'ish mpg...that's a lot worst than what i've been reading people got on this forum (25-33mpg). anyways looks like the new vibe is more attractive than the one it replaces according to them. i really like the 09's

I guess a difference of opinion is what makes the world go 'round, but I don't like a single thing about looks of the 09 Vibe. From the notched shifter (whatever the technical term is) to the misshapen dash trim to the goofy tail lights to the little triangular rear side window to the too-small-for-the-hatch rear window. But hey, that's me.It does seem to feature more standard safety equiptment though.

Is that the same Edmunds that had this to say?
http://www.edmunds.com/pontiac....html Maybe some competing ad $$ came in. I don't get it. Why does everyone, including Pontiac themselves under rate the MPG on this car? Either 97% of the people on this forum are lying, or the media is. 19 mpg??? I have a gas sucking commute up some long hills, stop & go, etc. Lowest yet is 29 mpg. From Consumer Reports on a GT (Matrix)... CR's overall mileage, mpg 27 CR's city/highway, mpg 19 / 36 CR's 150-mile trip, mpg 31

Edmunds is nothing but a biased inferior opinionated company. They run with Motor Trend magazine on the fact that all american cars are junk and Japanese cars rule. I never read Edmunds crap. Our first tank of gas on our 09 GT 5MT was 27 mpg, about 60% highway, 40% city

Just like every other review out there, it is just somebody's opinion...sometimes with a nudge from the company they are reviewing. The real opinions come from us As for the MPG, I do know that there is a very complicated procedure that grants the official numbers. Not sure of the ins and outs of it, but it is likely far from how it goes in the real world. I can easily get 26+ MPG with purely around town, 'spirited' driving. Mine is a manual though, but it is not that much different with an auto.I trust us GenViber's for opinions and MPG figures

yah i don't really trust what some magazines say...it's always best to hear what real owners have to say...that's what these forums are for it's just interesting reading reviews online haha

YEs, theres quit a few actually. Car and Driver is the only mag that seems to be remotely on the fence between American/Japanese/European makers. The rest of the magazines are pretty much biased to what they are about (i.e., High Performance Pontiac, Street Tuner, Chevy High Performance, etc)The other magazine that I am finding very unbiased, and pretty much based soley on facts is Popular Mechanics
