I love Pixar films. and yes, I'm a huge Disney fan myself. No kids, but people come over and ask why we have just about every freaking kid movie (Disney and Pixar). Probably wait til it's out on Blu Ray though.

Can't wait to take my kid to it, I know he wants to see it as do I! lol

Not sure about this weekend, but I do want to see it too. Pixar is great at making movies that appeal to ALL ages. Kids love them, but there's more sophisticated humor for the adults too. My current favorite is Cars, we'll see if Wall-E can trump it.

TGIF, The Pixar preview for Wall E looks great and we are gonna see it this weekend too. Movies are such a good thing to enjoy when it's HOT outside. Then we'll go to Ihop for multigrain pancakes with strawberries.Engineertwin, What did you two think of the movie?

Does anyone think this looks like an animated "Johnny Five" from Short Circuit?Movie does look cute... might go see it in a few weeks...

It's aimed at kids, so don't expect a whole lot, but I enjoyed it!

I've been looking forward to this movie's release for a long time. I can't wait to see it lol. There hasn't been a movie worth paying for at the show in probably almost a year in my opinion at least!!!

I guess it wasn't quite what I expected from previous Pixar movies. There's definitely a political message that seemed to weigh it down. I just had this really unsatisfied feeling walking out. You sort of feel like you've just been chastised. It just felt really odd for a "cartoon." Parts of it were pretty cute and amusing, but it just really didn't make up for the feeling I had at the end.The other problem (that is getting to be pretty standard for all movies) is that the trailers you see before watching the movie contain 90% of the best parts. You go to watch the movie and you've already seen all the good scenes.I don't want to discourage anybody from seeing it if they were looking forward to it, but I thought a warning might help lower your expectations, so you don't end up feeling really let down. We went to a 9PM showing expecting a crowd, but there were probably less than 20 other people...

It was great! Wife and I went with her parents over the weekend. I laughed so hard my stomach was hurting. It does get a little political and sappy, but was still great.Quote, originally posted by breezd »Does anyone think this looks like an animated "Johnny Five" from Short Circuit?I was thinking the same thing.

Wall E certainly was influence by Johnny Five. Thankfully the two movies (and the robots) are completely different. I'm glad I gave the movie a chance.

My wife and I took my three little neices to go see it on Saturday. The theater was packed!!! There were a lot of kids, which to me makes the whole experience a hundred times better. In fact you could hear several of them crying during the sappy parts. We all loved the movie and I can't wait for it to come out on DVD so I can add it to my collection. "Five Alive"

On a side note, I was shopping at my local Sam's Club yesterday after work and I came accross a Remote Controlled WALL-E. This thing is awesome! You can program it to perform a combination of 15 moves. It dances, talks, makes sounds from the actual movie, It's eyes light up and move just like in the movie, the arms move and the head turns and bobbles up and down. The arms move with the motion of the head, so you can't acutally control them. It also rolls on actual tracs like in the movie. It is amazingly identical to the movie and has the actual voice of WALL-E.I bought it for $38.00 to entertain my 10 mo. old daughter but she's not quite sure about it yet. At first she was terrified of it then she started to laugh and play with it. Latter on last night she was back to being scared of it. Anyway...very cool. This is something I will keep for a long time. Anyone else have one of these?

Maybe they made this movie for those people who aren't old enough to remember "Number 5 is Alive". LOL. They're running out of original ideas and have to recycle characters Why else does every classic cartoon (Scooby Doo, Underdog...) get made into a lame "live action" movie?

Short Circuit..hmm ...haven't seen it I'll have to rent that sometime. Here's a thoughtful review of Wall-E that was in the paper today. The writer suggests that, "WALL-E" is partly an environmental parable, but its primary point is moral. The movie argues that human beings, aided by technology, can become imprisoned by their consumption."http://www.unionleader.com/art...97ad6

I was hoping for another Monsters Inc or Incredibles. What I got was not nearly as good as most of Pixar's other movies. I was disappointed at best. PS: The short cartoon about the magician at the beginning was funny though!

Quote, originally posted by NUBlackshirts »PS: The short cartoon about the magician at the beginning was funny though!Yes! I forgot about the intro short, I was wiping tears from my face. At least as good as Jack Jack Attack.I think the Wall-E / Johnny Five comparison is interesting. I had never seen Short Circuit until last week. I noticed a few similarities, but at least Wall-E didn't have the horrid cheesy 80's acting. I think maybe if I saw Wall-E again, I wouldn't judge it so harshly, but based on my expectation, I was sorely disappointed the first time. I went to see a funny cartoon and instead, I was told that I'm fat, lazy, and I destroyed life on Earth. To be honest, I guess some parts of the movie rang true, especially about people becoming useless and blindly following whatever leader has the catchphrase of the day. I see that happening already. The obvious dig at Bush "Stay the course", was disgusting, even despite my opinion that the man should be in prison. So yeah, maybe I did do too much thinking, but it was the movie's unapologetic political messages that inspired it.

We just went to see WALL-E a second time and got to really enjoy it cause we weren't so busy figuring out what was happening. Then when we came out there were 3 Vibes and a Matrix all parked right next to each other! I talked to one of the other drivers and told her about GenVibe.
