Air-Conditioning question

I believe this is the right forum to ask this in. I have heard that the AC in Vibes is sometimes too cold (described as frosty even). However when I turn the AC on it eventually gets cool to cold (even on recirculate). Is there a test to see if your A/C is up to spec before I go to the dealer? I am judging this compared to my previous Neon which even on the hottest days I had to turn down because it was getting too cold. It has been nowhere near as hot and yet the AC only seems to get cool to cold (and I am in Central NY and I have heard people from Florida say it is real cold).

Get a small thermometer with a long probe at a local auto parts store and stick it in one of the A/C vents. The air coming out of the vents should be about 40- to 45-degrees when on recirculate and a medium fan speed. If it doesn't drop below 50-deg then you might have a problem.
