I only need auto transmission, air conditioning, remote door lock, power door/window. Is 15k doable for a 07 or 08 vibe? I am planning to purchase in NC.

Check on http://kbb.com or http://cars.com or any of the other sites and check. It will vary depending on the region you want to buy the car in.

A brand new 2009 Vibe 1.8L with AC, AT & Power Package has a msrp including destination of $18,640. This 2009 comes standard with multiple air bags, 4 wheel disk antilock brakes and stability control. You can expect to drive this for 36,000 miles/36 months without any expense other than oil changes and tire rotations. The drivetrain has a 5 yr/100,000 mile warranty.Financing rates on new cars are lower than on used cars.I am confident you could buy a decent used '07 or '08 for $15,000; the question is why would you?.

Bought a new '08 Vibe last month with auto, monotone, monsoon, premium wheels, keyless, cruise, no moonroof for $17,400...$18,700 out the door. Sticker was just under $21k. Came with the GM 3 year/36,000 mile bumber and 5 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty. The warranty was the main reason I bought new vs. used. No money down and 3.9% financing.I test drove a base '06 Vibe auto with 35,000 miles that was a rental and it was selling for $14,999. The 5 year/100,000 warranty started in mid '07 so the '06 would have had basically no warranty. I think I got a pretty good deal. Another good site to use is http://www.getauto.com

For $2,400 more you got a 2 year newer car with new tires, new brakes, new transmission fluid etc. etc. and a warranty -plus a better finance rate.

Well, it might be tougher now with fuel prices up but I bought our new 03 gt for 12 grand. The salesman was crying like a rat eating red onions when I got done with him. Try to find a last year's model on a new lot. Our's was actually sitting with 05 models and it was an 03, sticker over 22 grand. He even gave us free oil changes.dan

Also try autotrader.com. You may save a few thousand by picking up an 06 instead of limiting yourself to 07/08. The carmax in Gastonia says they have an 06 with 36K miles and the options you want for $14K. I am not advocating that you buy that one, just mentioning that I saw it was available. Also look at the local craigslist, might be something there. Some places aren't specific on the options, some lie about the options, so look at the pictures. The power windows, power locks, keyless entry and cruise control are a package, so if you see in a picture the power window switches on the door, or the cruise control stick on the steering wheel, then it has them. Conversely, if it says it has power anything and you see a hand window crank on a door, then they lied. when searching on line, you may have to expand the distance from where you are to the seller to find more choices. Then you have to decide if it is really worth driving there to check it out.

I am laughing Jake, nope, no goat. They were stuck with the gt and wanted to move it. "No one wants a 6 speed". I had to agree with him. I offered them 12 k for it. Next day they wanted me to drive it off their lot. Told me 14. I knew I had money on GM card so I took it off their hands, after they promised me free oil changes. They never knew it was exactly what I was looking for. I learned a few years back that there is always another deal just down the road, and the dealer knows it.Dan

After all taxes, deals, dealer crap, ect , I paid $16'7XXcdn! '09 base vibe.FYIfor you americans, if you come up here, gas today is $3.75/gal/$US (that's $1.079/litre $CAN)

An old thread rises from the ashes. From what little I know about Canadian prices and GST, $16,700 CDN $ for a 2009 Vibe seems pretty good. Did you get AC, AT and Power Pkg on that?I think your liter to gal conversion might be wrong. One US Gal is 3.785 L so 3.785 x 1.079 = $4.08 Canadian$/US Gal. Opps - I forget that the US$ is again worth more than the Loony - so you may be right at $4.60 US$/gal.

Ya my calculation is probably off, but needless to say, gas is more expensive up here! The cheque I gave the dealer was for $16'7XX. The power package alone would have run up the price $3000, AC is included in that. Auto tranny was about andther grand. Mine is the bare bones base model, 1.8 5speed. My Sunfire is the same, bare bones base model. I'm not that bothered by manual windows and such so it works great for me!

Look for deals. Shop as many Pontiac dealers as you can and use their websites. I bought my 08 new for just under 15k, manual, monsoon, sunroof, power windows/locks, a/c. It was an internet deal from a local dealership a year ago last January and I actually thought it was too good to be true, but I checked it out anyway. Of course, they tried to back out, but I had printed their offer. It's amazing the stuff these guys try to pull. They used the most incredible math and babble I have ever seen, and they were very good at it. Bait and switch tactics. Unethical as hell. So watch out, A good deal can be found, and made, if you are careful. Make sure you do all your homework first and then have some patience, compare as many deals as you can.

I got my 08 Base Vibe for $11,500, i limited my searches at 14k and still found plenty of vibes in my area. watch out, though, as the price goes down, the miles on the vehicle tend to go up, so be careful where you are with the 3yr/36k b2b warranty left.

I bet you could find a low mileage 09 for under 15k if you looked around the net. Just look at ebay or auto car trader.com for laughs. I just found an 09 vibe in TX for $12,739..don't know it's mileage though.
