Today was the bike club I belong to, Detroit Sport bikes (DSB), annual Hooters ride. I believe it was a total of 70 mile or so from that start to the Hooters. There were I think 75 bikes in our caravan. The ride was organized VERY well. They had appointed captains and had them all ride the route prior to get a feel for where we were going. The captains would stay in front and block off any intersections on the way that turned red as we passed through. We went through some awesome winding roads with some great scenery I have never seen before in that part of Michigan.Only one rider went down on this ride. I was at the tail end of the line and didn't see exactly what happened but apparently a little kid threw a plastic cup out the window of a van and as the rider was turning it went under his wheel and slid the bike from under him. If we would have seen what had happened or realized what he hit, there would have been a lot of pissed of bikers ready to kill the people in the van, so lucky for them it happened so fast. None of the traffic in the intersection even showed any concern or offered to call EMS which also really bothered me.Wonderful day though I had A LOT of fun. Here are pictures:

very nice. the blue steel face definitely works for you the cops were cool with you guys blocking off the intersections??yeah i woulda been seriously pissed about the lil kid too. man i couldn't imagine being surrounded by 75 bikes if i did something stupid enough to make one of em lay a bike down sadly i'm actually not surprised about the people's lack of concern for the downed rider he's ok though right??

Cool pictures, looks like a good turnout for the ride, looks like a wet start too in some of those pictures. That sucks about the guy going down, and the stupid cage that was throwing stuff out that caused it. Hope they were alright. and very lucky for the kid that it wasn't seen. Not really shocked about the people not helping out either.

lol...There were like 3 or 4 ladies that rode with us, two of which had their own bikes. I'm not seeing anyone at this time otherwise I probably would have had someone ont he back Hondas are not as common around here. Most people are buying GSXRs and R6/R1s.
