Do NOT need to remove dash to change intake air control valve

Decided to start new topic instead of appending to old. Long story short - started getting clicking noise from inside dash and 'pulsing' of air when intake switch is set to outside air. The secret is using a 7/32 socket and a 90 degree screwdriverPlease see attached file for pictures and instructions for 2003 Vibe.Best of Luck!

one likely problem is that although the web page says attachments have to be less than 2 MB, it throws them away if they are even close to 1 MB, so my guess is the attached file was attached, but too big.Congratulations on being able to do the swap without pulling the dash. I tried that, and had all kinds of the right tools, but my hands are just too big to do work that far up. In the end, pulling the dash worked out for me, was able to find and remove some glass from when my windshield broke. In the end pulling the dash wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, but the recirc fix would definitely be easier if it were possible without that much disassembly

HI, just did it, thanks, lost a screw, everithing was close today so I just rotate the white gear, the noise is gone.

Thank you most kindly - your post helped me out greatly. HOWEVER - I had some trouble with the screwdriver... and $25 at Sears later I had a 35-Piece Micro Driver Set - this micro ratchet has a knurled thin ring that made the top screw much more manageable.- cheers, Ron
