I would doubt that there would be any difference in the brake systems between the Matrix & Vibe.

Welcome to GenVibe. The biggest difference is perception - the name Toyota garners extra cash these days.Other than that, you've pointed out the major difference (leatherish seats). Braking distribution is the same as ABS, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Also, the Matrix is likely to have a higher resale value (mostly because of Toyota's perceived higher quality and the higher capital cost of the vehicle - you spend more, you usually get more back at resale).

Brake distribution "could" be referencing a traction or skid control system though..

i was wondering about the brake thing as well. I just see it referenced in toyota's website, but not with pontiac.if theres so little difference. Why is the toyota 1000 bucks more? The only reason I'd take a matrix is because I like the orange color. Still dont know if I like it 1000 dollars more.

The Matrix's clock isn't integrated in the radio but rather squeezed in the small opening above the shifter..... small akwardly placed clocks aren,t free you know....

I have BFD in my 05 AWD XR Matrix. It basically is a little computer that makes sure all wheels are getting the porper amount of braking force and not one locks up during the ABS or hard braking, keeps them even.I personally like the styling of the new Vibe better than the Matrix. I saw a new Vibe at the dealer last night. Drove by it quick. Then got to see a new Matrix parked at some lot, took a walk around. I am more a fan of the new Vibe, it seems a little taller and more edgy, while the Trix looks like a curtain was draped over it.

The '09 Vibe and '09 Matrix have the following differences:The Vibe has the rear grocery/shopping bag organizer built in to the rear. (It folds up)The Vibe has On-Star (one year free). The Matrix and the Vibe have different electronic power steering specifications. I don't know what the exact differences are. That's all I can think of right now.

besides the new vibe looking better than the matrix...the vibe seems to be slightly taller than the matrix too. the radio headunit is slightly different...vibe has onstar...the 18's on the vibe looks better than the matrix...the vibe has two antennas on the back whereas i think the matrix has one.i've test drove the vibe but sat in the matrix when my friend test drove it...the vibe seems to be more quiet...like lesser road/wind noise.

wiki entry about brake force distribution. it's from wiki, so it can be taken with a grain of salt, or correct:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E...ution the entry makes sense, and before i read it, i was thinking of the exact same definition for BFD. it sounds right to me.and welcome to the family
