30 mph That's a normal day in Western NE. We've had 30mph winds for 2 days and probably will continue for a couple more. Last year we had sustained winds at 65mph and gust to 80mph.Typical High Plains weather......snow two weekends ago, and 90 degrees last weekend.

30MPH?? That's horrible!!! Just think if you had that plus 50° Temps???They would have to shut down the state. LOL! J/K! We also get 30mph+ sustained winds several times a year.Sorry to see your yard get messed up, that's never fun.

I was out at SJSU yesterday and today and it wasn't too bad. It really picked up a ton of dust and pollen so my allergies were going crazy, but the wind was hardly enough to sway my car on the drive home.No problems with the trees here in Fremont either.

Actually, I need to re-edit. It was 60 MPH winds as I was reading on a local news website. Still. DAMN!

You need a better base for your umbrella too. That small cylinder of concret is not enough. Get yourself something made of wrought iron with a larger platform. And stow the brella when not in use, close her up and tie it off.
