While I do think it will be more disappointment than awesomeness, the fiancee really wanted it. I just picked up our pre-ordered copy and I'm curious if anyone else on here has any plans to get their own...

I am kind of addicted to playing mario kart though....cause baby peach is soooo cute! (and i like how she has a pacifier in her mouth ) I wish I had the money so I could get my own wii *hint hint* dontate to the Tracy's wii foundation...this is not to be confused with the Tracy's new car foundation

dont worry it will only call you fat...or so all the young girls crying over in the UK are saying I think its more gimmick than anything but if someone were to take it seriously it could work, i just dont see it working up your heart beat more than say going for a 4 mile run.

My wife wants WiiFit which means we will probably end up getting it. I want a motorcycle which means I probably will not get one.

i just looked at the wiifit description on best buy's website, and it looks pretty cool. i still haven't played the wii yet =/btw, does this idea remind you of anything from the 80's??my answer:one thing i respect nintendo for is their decision to manufacture almost any new idea they come up with, and pretty much let the consumer decide it's fate

Sweet! Go Olympics - running for the win in 1991...although we didn't have the Olympics, my neighbor had the power pad and the "Caveman Games"

ah the good ole power pad, just not enough games used it. I may get a board when more games support it, ie. snow boarding, skating .etc.

I'm passing on this one. I have a gym membership and enough other games to keep me occupied.

I picked one up yesterday, but need to pick up a couple more for a few people. Haven't had time to bust it out since it's summer time and well... track season. Instead, I went and beat the hell out of my car yesterday.

My friend and I used to cheat at the Olympics game by kneeling and using our hands on the powerpad, because you can move your fists faster than your feet with less effort.

I got one, but my wifw will end up with it....I'm over the weight limit right now...

kari, i remember my mom and older cousin doing that when i was playing against them because they could never beat me i used another way to go faster than the hand method hey partsguy i'm curious, what's the weight limit?? if you don't wanna answer, it's cool, i was just wondering

150 kg or 330 lbs. I weigh in at 349 right now. The warranty is void if you're over the limit, and it has some way of storing an over-limit weight, so I'm not touching it until i get under the 330 mark. *normally this is where I'd say I'm not fat just big-boned, but I'm tall too*

There are definitely draw backs to it. The fiancee and I do the work outs side by side, trading turns on the balance board. You may not be able to do the games, but you can definitely do the other stuff (yoga, strength training, aerobics). And you can do the 2 player jog...

i tried it yesterday, yoga was actually useful. But imo it will not replace real working out/ exercising

I dunno, you get your heart rate up and get moving, that is exercise! Just won't get the fresh air!

running 4 miles in 30 min and doing 30 min of wii fit are not the same. you will burn multiple times more running than in wiifit.

wii fit labeled me on the brink of obese/overweight. i was like...What the? No one should be believing what it says, its just guessing from your height/age/weight. it doesnt take in account your body type, bone thickness, build etc. Im not fat, but i got a big build. I dont consider my self obese by any means... I cant believe people have taken it so seriously though..

Cardiovascular health is a good thing for anybody though, and it doesn't come through strength training. It comes from aerobics. Some of the skinniest people are the most unhealthy, even with their high metabolism. You can't fault him for wanting to be healthy. Anyway, I'd love to get one of these but it would require a Wii first, which would require $300, and a store here to have some. Unfortunately that probably won't happen at the same time for a while.
