noise from front wheel-passenger side

I noticed a rubbing noise last week coming from the front wheel. It only happened at low speed (under 20mph) and got louder when the brakes were applied. I assumed debris or scratched pad or rotor. I took the wheel off yesterday and inspected everything. The pads are good and wearing even, the caliper slides move freely, the piston compresses easily and returns immediatly with pressure applied to the brake pedal. The rotor appears to be a little glazed, but appears smooth overall on both sides except for a small rusted lip at the upper and lower edges of the rotor. I'm going to have the rotor turned tomorrow. Is there anything I'm missing that could be causing this? The brakes are working fine, no pulsing or vibration. At this point I'm stumped and I refuse to pay shop rates for brake work. Any thoughts?
