Economic Stimulus Rebate Checks

So, I was checking my bank balance online and huzzah! I got my E.S.R. Check, but it was only for $488. Why is this? I thought I was getting $600 since I am single. I believe it was written single and 1 on my return earlier in the year. Could this of affected my rebate? Help! How much did yall get?

It's variable from $300 to $600 for individuals, depending on various factors of how much you made, how much in taxes you paid in, and if you're over a certain dollar amount.Check out the calculator on the IRS's website:
http://www.irs.gov/app/espc/It can make sure that $488 is accurate.

according to the Calculator i should recieve the full amount!! G.Y. Tripple Treads Here I come!! Just as soon as I get the check. The proccessing center has stated the they have begun sending them out so i should be just a couple more days.

There is a website with IRS where you can figure out how much you get.I ams upposed to get 600,my mom got her 300 yesterday.

I received a statement stating that I was getting $1500 next friday. new pool liner will take most of it. at least I'm spending it localy althought most of it will be labor.

Hi, Canadian here, do you guys think the Stimulus check (cheque) will work?Sounds a bit hokey that a one time spending spree would save the economy.

You shuld hve gotten two notices stating how much you were getting. I just got my second last week for $1200.Oh and forget about spenidng it for goods, sorry merchants but it is going in the bank and will probably be spent on gas. Not that the oil comps need it but the way gas is, come on! Such nice timing and I am sure anyone that is a few house payments away from losing their house will use it for a mortgage payment rather then go out and spend it on materials things.

My mother got her 300 on the 9th.She didn't get any notices.I do all of her mail,banking.etc. for her so there is no way she got a notice.I haven't gotten any notices either,but I'm not expecting mine until the week of 6-13.

Got mine last week... had received several notices leading up to it and it went direct deposited right into my bank account.

Checks were also issued to some prisoners and several people who weren't eligible.

So by getting $0 did you earn a whopping salary last year or where there other things that contributed to losing out on it?Don't need exacts, just thought it might be good to get a heads up for some people who might not know...

Just an FYI for everyone it is dependent on your gross salary, your gross adjusted salary (i.e. after taxes, 401k contributions, etc.) and also whether or not you owed or were paid money back this past year. I was paid money back and fell into the realm of the 600.

Of course it is all BS, the state is going to take in a bit more money this next year than it did last. If they simply FROZE spending at last year's level, problem virtually goes away. I got mine, $900 for me and my son. This will be going toward gas and daycare.This topic was brought up on dicussion on day about people receiving more back during income tax because they have kids. That it's not right, having kids is an option you make and wy should you get more because you have one. I am partial to this thought since I have a kid. I think the legitamitly working people should be able to get this but the people who are on welfare (meaning the ones who take advantage) shouldn't get it. It's not fair that I work my (removed) off to take care of my son and I and these people do nothing and get all this money back. I say welfare reform! That should save a whole lot of money.But that's another topic of dicussion.

Do I hear a young Conservative in the making????I got the full amount. Instead of spending mine on something cool. I had to buy a new transmission for my lawn tractor. Can you believe $350.00 for a mower transmission? It only weighs 25 pounds. Troy-Bilt wanted $450.00 with shipping. Thank goodness for ebay.

The checks are only for those that do, at least that is what I know...If on Welfare and you are paying income tax then yes I say these people too deserve the check. They are paying into the system so why not? I digress though...

I am being led to understand that this "rebate" is simply an advance on next years taxes! Anyone know any facts behind this? I know my wife and I expect to get $1500 for the 2 of us and our son, as per the calculator on the IRS site, but it would suck to think that 1) they would tax us for that next year, or 2) take it right from our refund next year!

It is not an advance on your refund and you won't be taxed on it.

Got mine in Friday I think. $300. It was what I was expecting as I barely made over the minimum cutoff ($3k) from working only 2 months last summer.

waiting... waiting... waiting...We sent in our taxes right on tax day (weren't too thrilled about owing this year so we sent a paper check to postpone the inevitable blow to our bank account)The last time I looked at the IRS website, our check was supposed to have been 'sent' on May 31st. They also say that we should wait two weeks to get the check (which would be today...). We'll see.Edit: Ok, I meant May 30 It still isn't here yet, though.

There are three reasons you might not get a rebate, or get a lesser rebate.1. Make too much.2. Make too little so you pay too little in taxes.3. You do not have the right kind of qualifying incomeIf you qualifty for more based on 2008 invcome/tax paid you will get it next year.

Most people have forgotten the we got a stimulus check around August '01...of course the 11th of September shifted our attention.
