Hello Everyone-Just wanted to introduce myself. I read quite a bit of the forum before my wife and I joined the Vibe family last weekend. We got a smokin deal on a 2007 vibe, so we jumped on it. We were debating between a Mazda Tribute/Ford Escape, a Nissan Versa, and the Vibe. I am very glad we got the Vibe. I'm not sure if the term Frosty applies because we have the grey cladding, but it's the only term for white I've seen, correct me if I'm wrong. My wife and I went to Kansas City for the weekend as an early anniversary trip as well as to see Dave Ramsey Live. You might look him up if you don't know who he is.This being our first road trip in the car [first of many], I was anxious to see how it did. But before I tell you, I should show pictures before someone gets mad. Back to MPG, this was 100% highway mileage, filled up when we left and when we got there. We went 248.8 miles on a half a tank. I filled 6.178 gallons. If you do the math [248.8 miles /6.178 gallons] you get 40.2 MPG! I was blown away. This is an automatic too, the main thing was that I slowed down, we took a state highway and kept the speed just under 65. And I made sure to accelerate slowly, trying to keep the RPMs under 2k, which is tough. It paid off though. So with city driving and driving back I averaged 34.2 on the second fillup, still impressive.Oh and if you do know who Dave Ramsey is, we actually got to meet him. That was awesome. I look forward to talking more with you guys.

Congrats on the purchase, awesome MPG score... better than what I can get... My last tank all in town driving 115 miles... 5.8g of gas... 19.82mpg... I was disappointed b/c I don't drive fast, or accelerate hard..Again congrats on the new purchase, oh, and we'd only give you a hard time on the pics, never mad...

That'd be the one. We took Financial Peace University in the Fall. Now we're leading one starting June 1st . It's been a great experience. Have you taken it or read any books?

Thanks for the all the messages and welcomes! We love the vibe, the only thing that I just realized after buying it was the car doesn't have ABS, which disheartens me especially because I really thought it came standard on the 2007s. My fault. How big of a deal is this?

Welcome, you from OKC? My grandparents live in Yukon and Edmond, and my mom lives in Seiling.

My fault. How big of a deal is this?Im on my second Vibe. The first was an '04 without abs the one i have now is 05 with awd and abs. Havnt noticed a huge difference between the vibes other than the abs pumping i felt through the pedal when i was driving on bad snow and ice. When i was in the 04 we had to make a really fast stop. we got stopped in time, but sadly we were rearended and that totaled that car. I had only had it for just over 2 months and immediately got another Vibe I loved it so much. I wouldnt mind driving another vibe without abs. It just depends on personal preferences and what youre used to.Welcome to the forum!!

I'm actually in Tulsa, but I am very familiar with OKC as well. I have to say I've enjoyed Tulsa far more than OKC.
