That is just suck! People just don't have any respect for anyone else's stuff that they work hard to get... It really sucks that now you have to either pay out of pocket or get the insurance involved though.

you don't have collision on the car? if you do all you would have to do is pay your deductable. If you don't have collision then yes it would be fully out of your pocket

It doesn't seem like it would be an uninsured motorist claim. For all we know, it could have been a shopping cart that hit it. You don't have comprehensive coverage?I feel for you. I'd flip out if I found my car damaged and no one took responsibility.

I have both comp and collision with 500.00 deductibles, but I think the damage is going to be right under 500 or at least close enough that I don't want to use the insurance. If I wait a couple of months is it going to make it more expensive to repair?

If it's just the fender, buy a new one online and have it painted and install it yourself.

As far as waiting to do the repair, I don't think you'll hurt anything. I mean the fender could start rusting and the paint peeling, but the whole thing will have to be replaced anyhow. Unless the fender were dragging or rubbing something, you'll be fine waiting as long as you can stand seeing the bobo.It pays to check Ebay for anything you're thinking about buying. I found a right-side fender primed and ready to paint for $143.99 shipped. I wouldn't guess it would cost more than $100 to have it painted, if you're comfortable installing it yourself.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWD1VPam's Auto parts is usually a good place to look. But it looks like they only have a couple left-side fenders and they're $174.

Oh no!!! I'm sorry...it hurts to see that. Someone did that to my Grand Am (I know who probably did it, but won't go into that. It's a personal attack when they bother to go end-to-end on both sides of the car.) I hope it gets taken care of ASAP.

Geez that hurts! Sorry to see that. It really is sad when some idiot does that to your car, and doesn't have nerve to own up to it. Many MANY years ago I was driving from NJ to my parents' home in FL in my brand new 1976 (don't laugh now) Dodge Aspen. First new car I'd ever bought. I stopped to stay overnight somewhere at a motel. I vaguely recall that sometime during the night I heard a muffled crunch/crash noise, but it wasn't loud enough to wake me up. When I walked outside the next morning, my car had the entire rear end pushed in. The trunk lid was even sprung and would not close. Amazingly, the taillights still worked, so with a bit of rope to hold the lid down, it was drivable, but it just made me sick.I know how you feel...

Well, I've decided to get the "the little zit next to my nose" fixed. It is only $355.My plan is to take the car to the bodyshop which is 1 block from my house next Tuesday at around 1 pm.June 3rd.and then I will have wednesday off so I don't need the car and hopefully pick it up wednesday afternoon. How long does it take for the paint to dry?
