I dunno about anyone else...but even after having my Vibe for like, 6 months, I still get a grin whenever I approach it from the side...cause it just looks SO cool from the side! And the two-tone effect really adds a lot of style to it!Not only that, but I see my front end reflection in the back of SUV's and stuff, and it looks so cool...almost looks agressive and threatening...I love it!Yay to Pontiac for killer styling on the vibe!Just thought I'd share the love...

Yup - went shopping tonight and as I was walking back to the car I thought "Damn thats a sweet car." Same expression I had the other night when I saw a shiny black Nissan 350Z parked in front of my apt building. *drool* Love my Vibe, love the look of it, but the Z was sweet.

quote:I have to agree with you Sputnik, that is a sharp looking car and they will sell a lot of those. A whole bunch of car for a good price. Don't know what the price is down there in the states for a Z, but its over $40K here. If I had $40K more I would have it plus my Vibe.

The new maxima is pretty sweet...has an option for a moon roof that extends the entire length of the cabin...very odd, and ugly IMHO...but that aside, the styling is aggressive, sporty, and, to use my favorite word, "sharp."

I too love the approach to my Vibe. Front view, Side view, Rear view, doesn't matter. Very well done aesthetics. But I'll chip in to the Nissan envy... My wife's '86 Accord needed replacing last year ('02) and the only car that caught my attention was the new Altima. An AMAZING improvement in every way from the '01 model. I was looking to retire my '86 Nissan pickup this model year ('03), but no new pickups gave me the same thrill as the Altima had. I was ready to buy a second Altima, but then I saw the Vibe. Not quite a replacement for my still-running pickup, but a car I WANTED and got anyway. And Nissan has stayed on a roll. The 350Z, Murano, new Infiniti models, etc... All I can say is "WOW!". If they'd give me what I payed for my Vibe in trade for a Murano I'd have one tommorrow.KSNeptune

I agree, the Murano is pretty spiffy, but it doesn't seem to be selling...since it's debut, I've only seen 2 on the roads...and I've only seen one FX45 (actually, it was the FX35 I saw, lol)...but that one is newer, so I'm giving it some time...I remember when Lexus came out with the LX and RX lines...the roads were flooded with them within a month or two...but overall, I'm guessing in response to the economy and such, the new models don't get sucked up as quickly. With the exception of the Vibe, the Matrix, the Vue, and the Saturn L Series, all of which seemed to hit the roads almost instantly.

I remember reading somewhere that some guy took over Nissan and swore to give Nissan and all it's divisions (Infiniti, and if there are any others...) a rebirth...seems in the past 2-3 years they def have accomplished that! I remember when Nissans were like, the equivalent of Daewoo's today...it wasn't a good car, didn't have a reputation, and was something you'd see on the road and was like, "oooh, I rarely see one of those)...at least that was my impression of them at the time....

I love walking to my Vibe in a crowded parking lot. It stands out from all the other cars. Walking up to the car I think "I wish that was mine", then I hit the unlock button and say "What do you know, it is mine". I have had 4 new cars prior to my Vibe and I was never proud of owning any of them. I love the looks of the car and I love 'lift'. What more could you want?

My cavalier was brand new but it never gave me a thrill like Sputnik does. It just looks so damn cute with its antenna on the back right to its front.

I have to admit, the antenna is pretty damn cool. I got a little ball on top with a Canadian flag, so it makes it even easier to find in a lot with VWs and Matrices and all the other cars that use the same antenna design...but then again, I usually park so far away, there isn't a problem finding it...lol...

Ok, so I customized a bit more today. My dealer has this fetish with putting on double stripes on every damn car he sells. You can't not ask for them if you buy off the lot, because they're on there before the car ever hits the lot. And he charges like $100 for them too. Grrr. Anyway, I took off the fatter stripe, and just have a fine black one going down the sides. I think it looks pretty sweet, though it is hard to tell from the pics... What does everyone think? Should I go one step farther and eliminate all of stripe-kind, or keep it at the single stripe? Thanks for the feedback folks! Before (dual-stripe): After (single stripe)

I like the stripe... I'm contemplaiting getting a silver one put on my Neptune. At least the dealer actually puts the stripe on. I've looked around at this one particular dealer, saw many cars where they charged $100 for the stripe, yet no stripe on any of the cars. Luckily my dealership doesn't do that, instead I just got undercoating without asking for it.

Actually, I hear undercoating makes a big difference. II don't think you should get it w/o asking for it, but it's good...I just wish I didn't have to pay $100+ for a vinyl sticker, which is all these stripes are. It's madness.

Yours can justify that expense. Mine was a dinky little 1/8" wide black tape. Similar to that used for the dealer badge. Couldn't be worht more than $20, tops.

The Decals look good, did you install these yourself? I would like to get these for my car!

I wish i did it myself. I did watch the guy do it and there really isn't to much to it. You just need to clean the car with alcohol first to remove any wax the apply from one end to the other. Cutting the ends and tucking them on the door was the tricky part. Here's a picture from the other side. I haven't recieved my blue overlays yet from graphixworks so I'll post them when i get them on.
