Aside from the powertrain what else is Toyota, such as is the frame and suspension Toyota?

I would say close to 80% or more. Denso and Toyota logos are hidden everywhere on the vibe. and most places that have Pontiac symbols are re-badged toyota parts. I.E. the stering wheel. The only things GM are the RADIO, HVAC, and badging. However saying that it was also co-developed.

I agree. With my 2005, if they ever had to order parts, even cosmetic ones that seemed exclusive to the Vibe (and not the Matrix) they were sourced out from Toyota. Some even had Toyota part numbers. Accessories were from the GM book though. The Vibe (and Matrix) is essentially a Corolla 5-door/hatchback, hence the car like feel and drive In fairness to GM, it was a truly joint venture and they had input into the design and manufacturing processes.

That's what I need to know, esp for looking for parts.

The plant that builds Vibes is a joint venture between GM and Toyota. They build 2 Toyota products, the Corolla and the Tacoma, and they build only one GM product, the Vibe. I assume since the Corolla and the Vibe are both built there, they share a lot of the same production lines, which would indicate that the Vibe is a lot more Toyota than GM.

You could basically go to any Toyota dealer and get nearly any part for the Vibe, with the exclusion of Exterior Body parts, the sound system after 04 and the On Star system. the fog lights are even the same. Stories have been told of significant discounts at Toyota dealerships vs GM dealers. so it won't hurt to call both when needing a part.

Ive been told at the plant the chassis start off the same but split to different lines for body and interior. That being said it uses Toyota spec parts which seem to be of better quality than normal GM stuff.

The Vibes and Corollas are built on the same line. One after another. The person at whatever workstation may have a box of Corolla horns on the left and a box of Vibe horns on the right. Whatever the manifest hanging on the car says, that's what you grab and put on.

Now you tell me! I've been referring to my vibe as a Pontoya. Now I'll have to call it a Toyiac, or a Coromatriac. Damn.
