Is this happening to anyone else? My Mom & I have had 3 new GM cards sent to us. One expires 2010, one expires 2011, and one in 2012. What the heck. What a waste of postage and other resources! Not to mention risk...who knows how many other cards they could've sent-maybe even monthly!

It's a GM Mastercard (HSBC). It's light blue metallic with a white streak going through sideways in the middle. Since we ReFi'd and used up the rebate points to buy Frosty, we haven't used it at all (there wasn't much of a rebate...something like $200+ off. Mom & I aren't much of shopper chicks) LOL Is that what you have?

Canada has the TD GM Visa Card. Hubby has one, just collecting points for nothing apparently. Unfortunately Nissan wouldn't let me use them.

If you did not request the card they should not be sending you cards. Its illegal!! Might want to check your credit report to see if there is any issues there. Last thing you want is some sort of credit fruad messing up your credit. This could be a sign of some sort of ID Theft! If its just offers to get a new card thats different.

That does sound pretty strange. I also have the GM Mastercard (pewter with diagonal white streak; so-called "Copper" GM card), but have not received any new cards since I had to get a new one after a couple fraudulent charges last year. My current one doesn't expire until 2010. You should call customer service to see what's going on. And like zion said maybe check

If it happened once, I wouldn't worry. I've gotten a new card when the current one was still good for a year or so. But the only reason I can think of for it to happen three times in a few months, is if someone is requesting new cards hoping to steal one from your mail. I'd call customer service and ask why. I hope they don't say, "because you requested them." On the other hand, maybe it's just a computer glitch. I'd want to know for sure, though.

OK...I called today and talked to a dude in India, I think, and he said yes, we were sent multiple cards and it's because the cards are "different". He said this newest one I received, the first time I use it I'll automatically get $200 rebate on my next car. (not happening ANY time soon, and I'm not going to use the credit cards at all after consolidating with the ReFi.) I've been very good. But is a little tempting. You know. Charge a small amount to get $200 rebate points. BwahahaaaBut I think it's because they know I have zero balance, so they're trying to bribe me back into the bottomless pit of credit card debt!
