Squeaky Wheel

Over the past few months I have developed a squeak on my 03 AWD that seems to be coming from the right front passenger wheel. The squeak is only there when the temperature gets down to 25 and below, and usually goes away after driving a few minutes (presumably after something warms up from movement). Has no relationship to brake application. I am guessing maybe a wheel bearing, but find it a little odd that it only exists in the cold.... Thoughts? Other possibilities?I should note, I don't believe it is brake related in any way - I just had my inspection 2 weeks ago, passed with no issue.I was planning on ignoring it, but now I have pictures in my head of the wheel flying off on the highway

You don't have to be going more than a few miles an hour to hear it - just with no foot on the brake or gas - just coasting.... but I will give it a push or 2 anyway when I go out later just to be sure.

Hi scooter...whenever I hear a slight squeak at my wheels, I always recheck the torque of the lugs. It doesn't take much to cause them to warp a little. My squeaks tend to sound like worn breaks but they weren't worn. I usually only hear this coming out of my drive but once the rotors warm up, the sound goes away.I have found that several times my tire shop didn't follow my 76ftlbs instructions and had over-tightened a lug or 2. Re-torquing always fixes the slight squeak.. that is until the next time I rotate/balance the tires/wheels.This is an easy fix if this is your problem... otherwise, I don't know *shrug*Dave

You had the tires rotated, did the squeek move? or did it stay in the same location? If it stayed, it sounds like it could be a wheel bearing... something that would warm with driving..

Still in the same spot.... haven't heard it lately as the temperatures have been up, but it was pretty cold a few days after the rotation, and definitely coming from the same spot....
