Cooling System Drain & Fill

In response to a "$49.95 special" I had my dealer do what is described on the order as a "Cooling system .5 Drain and Fill Coolant".I replaced the original coolant there 41 months (18,000 miles) ago. They used Dexcool then and now. I read where that stuff can gel if left in too long so thought it was time to change. No mention of "flush" etc. Not worried - just wondered if this is SAP.

I don't know what to think about Dexcool, but since it's the GM coolant and these are Toyota engines, I wouldn't put it in mine

If you haven't done so already, be sure to remove the radiator cap (ENGINE COLD) to make sure the radiator is full. Just because the coolant level in the overflow reservoir is between the lines, doesn't always mean the radiator is full. I have removed the dexcrap from 2 Vibes and the cooling systems can be a little tricky to 'burp' all the air out. The rad is full when the coolant level is all the way up into the neck of the rad, when the engine is COLD.

It was an orange color as I remember. Dexcool is 60 month - but the manual says to change at 24 months. When I first changed the coolant about 3-1/2 years ago the dealer told me it was Dexcool.
