I believe the width on the stock 17" is 6.5. I'm not 100% sure though.

6.5" seems a bit narrow. I would think that they would be 7.5", but I don't know for sure.

I was told that the widest rim you can put on a Vibe is 7.5. Any wider than that and you run the risk of your tires rubbing when you turn them all the way. Most of the aftermarket rims I have been looking at are 7.

The 17" OEM rim is 7' wide. I have put in 17x7.5 rims on the Vibe with no problems.

Many of the rims listed on the Tire Rack site for the Vibe are 8" or even 8-1/2". (I could mention the 10" I tried on the rear of my Vibe, but I'll hold off until I see if they fit on the front.)

Jeeez, I thought the 9.5" wide rims on my Mustang were big. I know the tirerack website was saying that the Vibe's 16" wheels were 6.5", I don't know the width of the 17's. I guess the narrow wheels combined with the virtually touring tires help explain why my Vibe slides into oncoming traffic lanes when taking hard bends at speed. I'm dying to slap on some grippier rubber and tighten up the handling a bit.
