I was just curious what types of clothes, everyone uses to dry off their Vibe? I have tried terry cloth towels, household bath towels, etc. but nothing seems to "absorb" all of it very well. I hate seeing the left over "wet" marks left because the towel's absorbancy power is too little. Any suggestions?

I TOTALLY agree! The Absorber is amazing. It's only a couple of buck's at Walmart.

Actually, I had an absorber the one everyone is referring to, and I hadn't used it till today, and it did work very well! I think I may want to buy a second or even a third so that I don't have to bother wringing out the towel while drying the car. Thanks for the tip though, any suggestions on how to avoid spraying Tire cleaner, and Wheel cleaner on to the body of the car? Again, thanks for all your tips and suggestions!

I like to spray the wheels with the shiny stuff last. That way my legs won't rub it when waxing and the cloth I use to take off the wax won't accidently wipe into it when I am removing wax from the fenders.The Absorber works great, I use one and we have them at work. The best combo is the California Detailer's squeegee and the Absorber. Use the squeegee to wipe away most of the water on the easy to reach surfaces and the Absorber to get the trim and crevices. This way I have found that I might only have to wring out the Absorber cloth once while drying the whole car. The absorber washes easily with soap and water. If it dries out, it gets real stiff. Just run it completely under warm water until it is all soft again. Don't try to fold or bend it when it is dried out, or it will tear. If you store it damp in the tube it comes in, it should remain pliable for a good while. The directions suggest that, as it is mold and mildew resistant. They carry them at our local Pep Boys stores and are currently selling there for $8.88.

That was the Cali blade I was talking about, I think. It is made of silicon so it can't scratch the car. I have a California Duster too, but I haven't used it yet. I'd like to see how that one works.

I agree with that too. I use a composite chamoise that I picked up at Autozone and it works great. I think that the best answer is and item that soaks up water that you can wring out and be dry again. That way you can use it over and over again.Shadow

Everyone, Thanks for all of your comments and suggestions once again! I really appreciate it, I now plan on buying a Cali squeegy (hmm, I don't think I spelled that correctly...) very soon. Sounds like that combo of a squeegy and the Absorber is the way to go. Thanks!!!!!

I'll chime in as well.. I use the California Water Blade and the Absorber as well... as others have mentioned, it is one of the best and safest way's of drying your vehicle when used properly.

The California Water Blade is great you can get the whole car free of water and use one towel to finish it off. Anyone have any input on there favorite typse of wax?

wow, i need to get one. to bad it rains here like everyday, so really not much of a point to washing your car.

Yeah, store it damp. Mine is probably close to 10 years old. I wash it once a year to clean it. Also, those car dusters work well too. And like was mentioned, the dirtier it gets the better it works. If you buy a new one don't use it right away. Lay it on some newspaper for about a day to help absorb the excess wax in it. BTW, my duster is also about 10 years old.

I bought three of them (The Absorber) last year. One for each vehicle and one for drying the dogs off.

I do like the leather chamois but I bought the absorber because it was much cheaper and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! I'm going to buy another one just so that I can have two! You can reuse it and a friend of mine has had theirs for a coupleof years! It's great!

They can be beat? Well I don't know how yours got ruined but mine is going strong and it seems like so is everybody else's that has replied to this question. Of course you'd have to take care of it as you would anything else.

I am no fan of the genuine leather ones. I bought an expensive one a few years ago and only used it twice. I hated it. You had to spread it out flat and lay it across the surface and drag it in one direction like the directions said or it would leave streaks everywhere. You can't really do that on vertical surfaces because of this little thing called gravity. The Absorber works great because it does a great job folded up, balled up, or whatever. You just have to wring it out once in a while. We've had one at work that has lasted about 5 years now, and that is with commercial truck fleet use. I would usually wash it with soap and warm water about once a month because it got some heavy duty use. An awesome product, though. Combined with the squeegee, that is by far the easiest and best way to dry off a car without harming any surfaces.

the leather ones dont really start to work well until they have been used 20ish times........they have to get that leather "juice" out too.

I'll stick with my Absorber and squeegee method. Never let me down yet. Only about 1/3 of the cost and ready to go 100% right out of the container.
