Lift gate bumper (little black buttons) also on doors

I was at the Pontiac dealer today and asked if I could go through a box in the body shop to see if they had a little black button that goes on the bottom right and left on the inside of the back door/lift gate. One of mine is missing. They told me to go to the parts dept. to see about ordering one. Officially, it is a "lift gate bumper" and shown on one of the drawings on their computer that lists parts. There are also 3 of them on each of the front doors and 1 of them at the bottom of each of the doors to the rear seat. Here is the clincher. They said they could order one for me and the cost would be - are you ready? - $17. I told them no thanks that I would call the Toyota dealer - I had to explain why I would do this - or go to a salvage yard. The lady at the parts counter told me I might spend my money going around looking for one, but I told her I still wasn't going to pay them $17 for a rubber piece about the size of the tip end of my finger. ANY IDEAS WHERE I MIGHT GET ONE FROM SOMEONE ON HERE.THANKS.

go to a junk yard and just take one off any car..they're all the same size..or..do the same, take the bumper off of the hatch that you got now to compare them to the one you find incase you're not 100% positive it'll fit

When I was restoring my trans am I used to get parts like that from Weaver Auto parts. They had a little book that I was able to go though and find that type of stuff. You might also find them at a Pep Boys they usually have a section of fasteners and clips and things.

This is probably of little, if any, interest to anyone, but I have precisely the same problem: the two small rubber bumpers at the bottom of the liftgate are broken. And I found something rather curious about it.According to the GM diagrammefor my 2006 Vibe, they are listed asPart no: 94855125Description: BUMPER L/GATE,(L/GATE SI),(12.9MM LONG-INSTALLED),(10.587)Usage: S(26)Year: 06-08However, if you order it from GM (or if you search other on-line parts dealers for it), part # 94855125 comes up with a different description, which is "BUMPER,FRT S/D". If you compare to the appropriate diagrammeyou will discover that "BUMPER,FRT S/D" is the description of part # 88974433. Now, these rubber bumpers are not interchangeable -- the liftgate bumpers are wider and shorter than the front sidedoor bumpers. My conclusion is that there is an error in the GM parts database, which resulted in the cross-linking of the two different parts; consequently, even if you do go ahead and order part # 94855125, you will get instead part # 88974433.
