So we had a rally cross at the state fair grounds on saturday. Everyone who passed tech and ran had a lot of fun. Even those who's cars broke down and got towed away from the scene. One car died on course and had to be pushed off. The other got some air, hit a rock and cracked his oil pan. Hope took her LGT out but I kept the STi at home. Probably a good thing to cause I'd have pissed off if some of the car damages happened to my car. Our friend Matt brought out his STi and got more then a couple rocks stick in the right front rim. Tore the paint off his Brembo caliper and chewed up the inside of his 17" BBS rim. Of course he was beating it up there pretty bad but I took a ride along in my friend's GTI and parts of the course were torture to my ears and it wasn't my car lol. Lots of large rocks were unearthed by the cars and I'm sure everyone took home a lot of dents. I need a beater car for this LOL.Anyway, enough talk. sweet! yeah the only rally's im doing in my ms3 are in dirt (soybean field) so no rock...i wouldnt put my new baby in that sort of predicament.

yeah, I'd take the STi out on dirt with the underside protected by a thick aluminum skid plate. But I don't have a skid plate and there was rocks out there the size of small water melons LOL

I searched all last night for skid plates for the new 08 STI. next rallyx is May 24, so.... I need one before then! Even still, I'll probably still run in the new car but on stock suspension, mudflaps and the entire front end, side skirts and if he'll do it, the rear bumper covered in 3M clear bra! otherwise... it was a blast, even though I took it easy (since I'm selling the car soon) and took my last place finish for 4W modified. LOLthat's ok though. I'm fine with it. I wasn't going to get a trophy, just wanted to have one last hoorah with the LGT before she's completely back to stock and sitting on a car lot. But, the next event, i don't care about time, I need some style points! Justin's WRX (you will see the one with all the dust clouded behind him) may not have been the fastest, but it looked freaking awesome!
