2009 Vibe base on order

I ordered a 2009 Vibe base on March 6th. No update from the dealer on production date yet.Options ordered:1.8LAutoA/CPreferred package Theft deterrent alarmULA radio with MP3Red Hot MetalicWe went for the 1.8L engine and the gas mileage since my wife will do the most driving and she has a 30 mile one way commute to work. Can't wait for the car...it will be our first new car in 15 years.Local Erie County PA dealers were pretty much clueless on the Vibe. One said they weren't being made yet. (even though they were already on the lot of a competitor) Another hasn't called me back with a qoute - now almost three weeks after I was in their showroom. Yet another was not interested in getting into a price "war' with other dealers.I guess the car business must be booming. Can't wait for the car!!!!!

I ordered mine this week, and the dealer told me the production date for my car should be between 5th and 16th of may, so your car should be at the end of april. Can't wait for the car also, but since it's still "winter" here, I prefer to wait and receive my car during summer, so I'll be able to wash it and wax it properly!Welcome and I hope we will enjoy our new Vibe!

The local pontiac dealer has indicated that they get updates from Pontiac every Tuesday. I hope by that time my order will have been pulled and given a build date.

I've been waiting since the end of Feb. to hear about the production status of my '09 1.8 manual Vibe. They don't even have a build date yet. When I talked to the dealership a couple of days ago, they said that my order status still showed as "ramp up" but they said it would probably be here before they got a Tuesday update from Pontiac about it.I've never been good at waiting for things!

Marty, thanks for the heads up. Let me know if your car magically shows up at the dealer. Does anyone know if we can e-mail Pontiac for mor information. They don't seem to like to use e-mail on their web-site.AZ

I e-mailed Pontiac and asked them if there is a way to track your order on-line. I know the answer but it was worth a try. I received a call from Pontiac support this morning and they were ready to call my dealer to yell at them about not keeping me up to date. After putting a stop to that I asked them to consider a system that would allow you to track car orders on-line. This is the internet age!Well tomorrow is Tuesday.....I am hoping for an update.....I like ordering a car the way I want it....I don't like the wait....

Welcome and congrats! Yep, I got the same treatment (and we bought two from them) I had an agonizing 3 months of that "don't call us, we'll call you" treatment. But I DID get to drive Frosty, so by the time it finally came, I was already used to the car.

Quick note...If you do mostly highway cruising the 2.4L will get the same mileage if not better. It has better gearing and power ratings. I am seeing 25mpg in mine right now with only 200 miles on it. I'll give a more detailed driving experience when I hit 500 miles in it.

A couple of quick comments:Verify that your dealer submitted the order as a sold order. Many will use your sold order against their monthly allocation. Sold orders have priority scheduling at the plant. Sold orders do not reduce a dealers commitment to the monthly allocation. Ask the dealer to see the order and if it was placed as sold. The NUMMI plant is run by Toyota, so the scheduling is not the same as GM plants. I am not sure the lead time in the final schedule.

I got an update from the dealer. They told me the order was entered as a sold order. The order has been accepted by GM and has a 3000 code on it. (she was not totally sure what 3000 code)Sound like good news....now waiting for next Tuesday's update.

Yet another tuesday, and I still haven't heard from the dealer about my order. I thought the dealer had put it in as a sold order, but now I'm not so sure. Im going to call and ask. Thanks for the tip!
