I just traded my stock tires for a set of Epic Tour 205/60/16s. They are rated for 60,000 mile. I got 40,000 out of the stock tires but they were well worn.

Just wondering why you went with 205/60/16. They seem to be the same price as 205/55/16 but only have a T speed rating. Also they are over 3% larger.

Softer ride is one reason and I was told they would wear longer than the 55s. I drive for MPG mostly so do not need the high speed rating. That is not to say I drive like a granny. I do like to have fun...Just not as much these days. I spend most of my drive dodging pot holes rather than racing..... Life in Ohio

A softer ride is a good thing. The roads around here look like a mine field too. When you calculate your mileage on the new tires don't forget the speedometer error.

When I bought new tires just after I got the Vibe (almost 1 year ago), I too opted for the 205/60/16. The smoother ride is amazing, plus I noticed that my speedometer seems to be more accurate that it was on the stocks. I only got 35k on the stock Conti's.

With the new tires, the speedO is still 1-2 MPH under what the GPS said I was going with the stock tires. Also it was 14.1 mile to the place I got the tires and 13.6 mile home. So I will put less miles on my speedo than I actually drive Work is now .5 mile closer also. So that is at least a mile a day saved. not sure which is correct. stock tire or the 60's. I would then guess my MPG also would inc. since every rotation of the tire is farther than it used to be,
