Bad PCM

It wasn't enough to have my wife's G5 in the shop (contaminated gas). I got a CEL on my Vibe over the weekend and it started shifting a little hard. I went to the dealer yesterday to get an estimate on the G5 and made an appointment for the Vibe. It is now fixed, the PCM had to be replaced and programmed. The dealer said the PCM was sending bad info to the pressure switch in the tranny. Thank God it's under warranty. I can pick it up after work tonight.

ahh nice! good thing is though, the vibe should rarely have a issue if you maintain it mine has 73k miles with not 1 issue

I got the work order from the dealer today. CEL code was P2716-Pressure Control Solenoid Operation Out of Range. It then refers to Bulletin #PIP4154 - Replace PCM. The PCM was replaced and reflashed. The car is running great. I just wanted to post this in case anyone else pulls the same code on the their Vibe.

I know I've posted this somewhere on here before, but the PCM going bad is kinda a known problem. Not many people here have experienced it, but at the ATRA (Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association) expo in Vegas last fall, my father-in-law sat in a conference that they discussed that problem in the Trix and Rola. Since we have the same drivetrain, there is a good chance it will happen to us too.

My 06 with 24k miles just got its PCM replaced. CEL came on and trans shifted very hard. Turn off engine and back on the CEL still on but trans shifting normal.I have a K&N drop in, so I put back the original and the CEL went away. Put back in the K&N but after a week, problem came back. Put in original again and light went away and kept oringinal in there. A week later, same problem.Took it to the delear and they replaced the PCM. Code was also P2716.Now everything is ok, but just wierd that the air filter will cause the CEL to go on and off like that.

you should try a dryflow one next time, mmmm forgot who makes them, Bluecrush had one. I think its foam instead of a oiled filter. Some oiled filters if over oiled can dirty the MAF and cause issue like that. Not everyone has those issues but it comes up every once in a while.
