I've owned Nikon in the past. Was great until I ran over it with the car.

you must tell the story to how you ran it over

Well kids, I must preface this by stating that driving over the camera did the final blow to it. I first took it snowboarding and was carrying it in the inside breast pocket of my coat. I tried to do a Pete Rose slide down the icy mountain. That cracked some of the screen. After the day was over I was taking pictures in the parking lot and placed it on the rear bumper of the car (I know that was really really stupid.) As I backed up I heard a little crunching sound, but thought it was snow. We wanted to take one more picture before we left, but couldn't find the camera so we went back to where we were parked and found it.

Well, it wasn't the Vibe that destroyed the camera. This happened before her time. As far as snowboarding? In Utah there are so many resorts. With the move a few months ago, Brian Head is the new place.

i currently have a canon powershot sd1000...seems to take good pics...but has a crapload of features i'm trying to make sense of...is a bit TOO much on the confusing side...but is one of the few cameras you can still buy with both a screen AND a viewfinder (a MUSt for me!)! it's 7.1MP

Yes the A720IS is one sweet cam....I wanted to buy that model but was a lil to much $$ at the time.It has the same features as the A570IS but has a 6x zoom instead of 4 and it has 8.0 megs compared to 7.1.If u can get it for a price u like it is the way to go.Canadianhttp://

http://www.h20camera.com/homeI def. like my older design more...
http://www.pentaxwebstore.com/...o-W30quoted from travelgearblog "It seems to me that if you are going to invest in a digital camera for your travels, why not make it a waterproof one? This way you can take it to the beach, it will be safe in the rain, and prolonged immersion in glasses of beer won’t hurt it either."

I ended up purchasing the Canon Powershots SX100 Si. It is 8 megapixels with a 10x optical zoom lenz. I picked it up for $250, which was right at my budget! The only downside was that it takes alkaline batteries so i have to get a charger kit to make things easier. but so far it takes amazing pictures! i will put some up of my car soon!thanks everyone for the suggestions!
