Engine will not go above 3k RPM. Please Help!

I know I've seen someone around here have the same problem but, I cant seem to find the thread. Somebody please help. I started the vibe up today and it didnt turn over the first time. When it finally started the rpm's went to the normal 1.5K when could and the dropped to about .2k. So I let it warm up and, I started to drive and I hit about 3k and it just started putting till I shifted. So if anybody can help me I would really appreciate it. Thanks

Your MAF sensor may be shot. Did you to anything recently in the engine bay?

Your car is in "limp mode". It does that to save your engine when it "thinks" something is wrong. Could try re-setting your ECU, disconnect the battery for a few minutes. Re-start it and let it idle for about 15 minutes. You throwing a CEL? (Check Engine Light)Hope that helps,As "Blue Crush" noted, a bad MAF will do that too.

It's the MAF sensor so I ordered it 220 bucks later. I'm getting the clutch and flywheel put in today so hopefully the sensor comes in sometime this week. Thanks for all your help guys, thats why I love this place.
