Which Browser to use? (please help)

I’m under Window 2000 since quite a while now, I don’t have the time, the money nor the will to switch to another operating system, as long as I can browse the Internet, send or receive E-Mail, work on some of my software, I’m fine. Now, since about a year, my Internet Explorer has been hijacked (no longer work), so I went to Netscape 9.0, it work fine, great, no problem. But since the support of Netscape will end March 1st 2008 (AOL’s decision), Netscape suggest to switch over either “Flock” or “Firefox”.I don’t know, either of those Web Browser, which one do you suggest me?Thanks in advance.P.S.: I’m not a blogger, so I don’t care if any of these browser have an edge in that area.

Never heard of flock, but i've been using firefox since it first came out of beta testing. I couldn't be happier. It's reliable, never been hijacked (on my computer), FAR more stable than IE, and is even customizable with downloadable extensions. just a better overall browser. I wouldn't recommend anything else. I will NEVER use internet exploder again.

x2 for firefox... i have been using it like ragin since beta... love the updates and add on's that allow you to customize your browser to your liking.I have never had a problem with firefox although some stupid web pages only work with IE.... stupid people HOWEVER there is an add on that will alow you to launch a new TAB in IE for those pesky webpages that only work with IE.I have never had it hijacked, I have switched everyone in my family to firefox and they love it...

FireFox is very similar to Netscape. So If you Like Netscape, Firefox would be a close match.

Is there an echo in the forum? Firefox all the way

Could use SeaMonkey instead of Firefox...Mozilla Foundation is keeping that going, it's basically the Netscape suite.Of course, I've been using Phoenix/Firebird/Firefox for a looooong time.

I've got Firefox running on my 4 GB USB stick with all my bookmarks with me at all time. Go to portableapps.com and install it and all sorts of other apps and you are good to go. AND I can be a a customer's site, plug in browse and leave with no footprint. Firefox is small and has great "free" add ons to make it fully customizable. A

I use Firefox, as does my brother. Here are some of the advantages I have noticed.-Starts up faster-Allows you to open a separate browser "tab" inside the one window-Google search bar is a nice quick easy feature that doesn't take up a lot of space on your toolbar.-The spam blocker is phenomenal, I never get pop ups. Never.-When you download a file you get a downloader pop-up that shows you all your recent downloads and their progress in one window. Once a file is done you can open it or cancel. I know IE does this but they do a separate window for each item, which equals clutter.Again I have not used IE in years so I cannot speak for what the new versions do. I just am so used to FF that I would never switch.

I have nothing against firefox -- used it all the time when IE6 was out -- but I've been using IE7 in vista for over a year now without any issuesif you still can't use IE, go with Firefox -- its secure and +1 for the add-onsyou might also want to try using this to fix the hijacker http://www.superantispyware.com/

I have been using Firefox for several years, and now am using the 3.0 beta version with Vista, even thought Vista comes with IE 7.0. Be aware that IE 7.0 will not work with Windows 2000. (I know, I tried). I need to keep IE for those rare programs that require Active X (hackers favorite tool). Firefox does not support Active X web sites. Firefox has 15-20% of the US browser market, but a much higher % in Europe.

The guts of it were ported to make the iTunes store work on Windows, the rest came later. I don't know anyone who uses it as a full-time browser on Windows, but it works quite nicely on a Mac.

Safari can be found at apple.com download. It works with Win XP and it is fast, very fast, probably faster than Firefox but the Apple interface "gray" turn me off. I'm sure it can be changed but there were not features I could find to compare to FF.A|
