Could anyone tell me if the 2009 Vibe has an optional roof rack/crossbars? I think they would help the overall profile.

If you go to the official Pontiac web site, and click on the '09 Vibe picture, it will take you on a little into to the new Vibe. In that, and I think in the accompanying video, they show an '09 with a roof rack. It is different to the older Vibes though - like the older Matrix' optional rack, there are no siderails. Just uprights (don't know the technical name) with crossbars. So it doesn't really flow with the roofline like we're used to seeing.Edit: Just went back there myself, and can't find the "reveal" video any longer. But at least there's still the one pic I mentioned. Surely there are some other ones on the web. I thought the AWD model included a similar rail to the first gens?

Haven't seen any pix of a siderail-style rack, but I think it would improve the roofline, or at least the perception of it. Of course all the people who have removed the siderails from their 1st gen Vibes will want to lynch me for saying that.Just my opinion - and we all know what they say about opinions...

Haha - I'll agree with that opinion. That's why I opted for the Vibe over the Matrix. Although I can see why people would want them off though.

The 09 AWD comes with crossbars (like the prior Matrix ones); no side-rails. I believe the crossbars are an option for other models.

I took the covers off of my 09 base and there are 2 bolts to which the cross bars attach. Looks easy to install. Now where to locate?

For an 09 I'm betting your only option is going to be the stealership.

I like the look of the the new roof line. The roof racks were nice but they were also kind of a pain to polish around.

I like it too, without the rack. But I might end up using the rack for bikes if my trailer hitch idea wont work.
