As a fellow genvibe member you know you want to get me a discount on one RIGHT!? Thanks for the pics, im linking the GT a lot, but im holding out for a possible GXP version that will be able to compete with Mazdaspeed3 and an Srt4 ( i read it somewhere from a very good source)

Thanks for all the great pics of one of the first 2009's captured 'in the wild'.Being a 2003 Base two-tone owner, I'm not appreciating what they did to the rear end -or- the instrument cluster. And then they eliminate the 'cladding' EXCEPT FOR UNDER THE REAR BUMPER, where it's still gray???? The design team must've run out of money when they got through with the taillights!

yuck. i guess i need to see one in person, but i'm still glad I chose the 03 VGT. that's too much like a matrix... and that rear end?? YIKES!

Ok, when will GM learn?? Those flashy chrome plated horn badges will scar if the airbags deploy!! One of the guys at our dealership was driving a Buick Lurcerne and got into a wreck, the airbags deployed, and he has a lifelong reminder, a perfect Buick tri-shield logo burned into his forearm.

Didn't know it came with the strut tower bracing already...hmmmAlso, it's very weird for me to see a GT in automatic...just seems counter-intuitive to the concept.

Wheels look great in person. I personally am glad the cladding is gone. Was a really cheapening factor on the Vibe, IMO.

Don't mind the front end. Even the back isn't too bad. But the profile leaves me cold. I don't know what to call it - a Vibetrix...?I know I really should give it a chance until I at least see one in person. Sometimes photos don't do a car justice. But from the pix I've seen, it sure doesn't grab me.I can't believe I'm saying this, but from all the pix I've looked at, I think I like the new Matrix (slightly) better than the new Vibe. But that could change once I've actually seen one.And I've personally always liked the grey cladding on the Vibe (though I've often wished it was darker so it didn't appear faded). Another reason why I chose a Vibe over a Matrix. Just thought the two-tone effect gave the car a bit sportier appearance. To each his own, I guess.

IRS. The car IMO has a better ride and handling. It is A LOT safer than my 08'. (no side curtain standard) The 2.4L does have a little more "punch" than the 125hp weakling and achieves close to the same EPA rating. Not dogging the previous generation. I own one, but the car has been improved on all its short comings.I am also seeing a few people talking about the car not being available in manual. I am sitting on my order workbench on dealerworld and the standard trans for both Vibe Base and GT is a 5spd manual.

FYI, if anyone cares...That "30" represents the day of the month this car was built and on what shift. I'm going to guess January in this case. The month is on your Cert. label in the drivers door jam.I'm not sure about the color. Red=day shift, Blk=night shift or vise versa.

Is it just me, or does it feel funny to see the tach on a GT redline at less than 8K RPM?

I hate when dealerships plaster their stickers and license plate frames all over a new car. First mod I always do is remove the advertising. At least these days it's a sticker and not riveted to the car.

Fantastic pics, thanks! How was the acceleration on the auto GT?! Give us some details man! Anyways the back end actually doesn't look that horrible in the 3rd and fourth pic, may be its the light or may be it actually isn't that bad.

Give us some details man! acceleration was awesome --- i'm used to pushing the pedal down and not seeing any power, but with this one, there was no problem getting up to 80. Smooth shifting, and a quieter engine.definately loved the extra power, made the Vibe even MORE fun to drive and the one thing i didn't like about the vibe, from the press pics, was the backend. it's not that bad in person, visibility is still good, even with the smaller rear windowssome other things I noticed:- side mirrors now fold- leather wheel doesn't have finger notches (i don't know what they're called )- ride feels higher- the matrix drivers side dash is higher than the vibes, which is a good thing- i miss the chrome accents on the meters, it's weird since they've added the chrome to the air vents- side profile of the vibe is similiar to the matrix, except that pontiac has put subtle flares by the rear tire and drivers mirror ---- looks sharp imoand I asked the salesguy and he didn't know if the factory roof rack could be installed further ahead. the base model in the showroom had a rack installed in the same location as where the gm crossbars would be with the old roof rails.
