Took a very small rock in the lower left corner of the glass. The chip is small so I called Dr. Glass to come tomarrow to fix it. It is smaller than a dime so he said it should be easy to fix.

It is about $53.00 which I can give a receipt to my insurance and they will pay me back. or $250 for replacement of the glass. ( not sure if I will turn it in though, Wife had a small comprehensive claim last summer. She side swiped a old beater with the mini van. no damage to our van they gave me a $2000.00 + estimate for their old beater.) Hate to have my premiums go up for life for a 55 clam repair charge.

I've taken 3 rocks in the original windshield but none have spread into long cracks so I'm going to keep this one until they spread or I take #4 and it looks like I've been in a shoot-out.Mike

Hmm...it's unfortunate, but it sounds like you guys don't necessarily have full glass coverage either. Here in AZ, there is enough gravel that gets on to the road from landscape trucks and all the rest that it pretty much necessitates the need for full coverage.I just gotta call my insurance when the windshield gets too bad and then they replace it free of charge. I know I pay for it, but it's pretty nice to have...

You should be able to turn in the claim without your rates changing. A windshield chip shouldn't even show up on your claims history. The whole point in paying the chips without a deductible is to get people to fix there windshields before they become a problem and cost the insurance company more.

My 2001 Chevy Tracker 4x4 was in that club, yearly it turned on the rock magnet, and CRACK!I just needed to take a drive on the highway longer then 30 minutes, and the windshield was history.Diane

The Glass Dc. Stood by his name and word and fixed the crack. If I ever need a new wind screen I will buy it from him. I always enjoy doing business with a man who backs up his work.
