Hi does anyone know if the engine immobilizer is a standard feature of the US 07 or 08 vibe? I don't see it be listed as one nor an optional feature here:
http://www.pontiac.com/vibe/bu...ash=YHowever when I head to the Canadian vibe site, it is a standard feature:

Yes it is the device or system that shuts the engine off when the car is broken into. Here is a certified third party installer of after market electronic immobilizer and how it works:
http://www.powerlock.com/cars.phpAccording to this pdf file, the 08 and 09 vibe sold in Canada has this as a standard feature:

well the pdf says 08 and up so i dont thinkthe 07's would. that feature must be a canadian thing unless its on the 09 vibes in the US, all we got was a blinking red light on the HU and/or a panic button from my knowledge. I bet some other CAN members will know though.

I have an 04 with the optional Theft-Deterrent System (pg 2-13 OM). It sounds alarm, flashes lights and locks doors if forced entry or battery discount is detected. I thought it also deactivated the engine, but I don't see that listed.
