It's a good upgrade, the gains are modest and not too wild.Plus it gives you the ability to choose between 2 modes which no other piggyback offers. If you are thinking of buying one check out neverenough.com,he has the best prices around for them.http://www.neverenoughauto.com...=1510

Its a good mod. However, like any other mod besides f/i on this car, I think the gains are mostly placebo effects. I cruise with Paul(Merzbow) all the time, and I am not any faster than he is, and he has a system that ways a couple hundred lbs in the back of his car.

The only way to fully utilize any ecu upgrade is to go GET IT TUNED on a dyno, getting the pre tune from unichip is meh. Also having all the bolt ons so you have free flowing intake and exhaust. otherwise there are cheaper solutions like the camcon, you can street tune it with a laptop if you know what your doing (with a wideband sensor) or have it tuned. BUT you gotta pay to play

Yeah i'd have to agree with northvibe. I'm having trouble getting my unichip correctly tuned. Since Unichip doesnt really know exactly what is on your car, you should get it tuned by a certified Unichip tuner, and dont install it until you do. In my case, i have a short ram intake instead of a CAI, so i ordered it to be tuned for a stock Vibe. But you only have to take it to a tuner if you have something different on your car than what the chip should be tuned for. Since you have a CAI, catback, and headers, make sure you order the chip that is tuned for those mods. If you do, you should notice pretty impressive gains right off the bat.

its a good mod but not one to buy and install without some other mods to really bring out its true ability. If you already have CAI and exhaust then your pretty set but I'd never tell someone to install a unichip on a car without anything else done. You can get the unichip mapped for the mods you have on. I noticed a difference with mine when I installed it. However on the drag strip... wasn't any faster lol

Yeah the Unichip will need to be complemented by plenty of other mods to actually be worth the price. You could try going for an aggressive cam for about the same price as a Unichip. It will be much more beneficial than the chip, but at the same time, you'll lose gas mileage lol.

Andrew,I still think you should put some money away to get it tuned, then you would see the benefits, and then you would kick Paul's (removed).I did notice a gain with the unichip, mostly top end,and the biggest benefit I got was it smoothed out my idle.My Vibe idles like crap, and is even worse with the s/c,with the extra accessory to drive.I do miss it though.

Oh, I am setting money aside, but at the same time I have to try and be somewhat responsible with the little money that I do have and spend it on the things that are more important to me. The Vibe is fun, not fast, and I accept that. So instead of spending a bunch to get a little, I am focusing on improving the exterior right now.

You can make the Vibe both fun AND fast lol if you give it the right mods. I just installed the throttle body and i found out it actually shaved about .8 seconds off of my 0-60 time. I used to do 9.3 or so with just my intake. I did a run yesterday and i wound up at 8.5 with both the intake and throttle body. I have to still tune the unichip though. We'll see.

i got a few other mods but with my unichip tuned 1 put down 135 whp and 125 ftlb torque. this is to the the wheels with heavy 18" wheels on. i think the gains are a little better on a 2zz as well
