Tonight in Buffalo, the Panthers were playing the Sabres, when Richard Zednik was at the wrong place at the wrong time..kind of a freak accident. his teammate collided with another player and left his feet doing so, striking Zednik in the neck with his skate blade. such a scary moment. hopefully everything is good coming out of this and he returns...infact this wasnt the first time this has happened. if you wanna see a freaky video, one that people hate to see, go to you tube and search for clint malarchuk, he was a goaltender for the buffalo sabres and got a skate in the neck slicing it open pretty good. it's an interesting story if you read about it on Wikipedia(
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clint_Malarchuk ) heres the article from TSN.ca about the Zednik incident, you can also view a video of what happened aswellhttp://

That happened to a teammate of mine in high school. Thank god there was a hospital behind the rink we were at. I've never seen somebody go into shock like that, or so much blood. He checked a guy in the corner, the guy fell and his skate came up and sliced my teammate in the neck. It was something like 30 stitches to patch him up! So yeah, that Zednik accident gave me the chills yet again. You can see the replay on ESPN.com btw.

Pretty bad cut. It took over 15 minutes to clean the ice of blood and continue the game.
