I have stock headllight bulbs and the low beams are great, especially with the fog lights on, however the high beams SUCK ! can i fix this by upgrading just the bulbs? has anyone had any experience in this? I was also curious if the stock wiring would handle larger wattage lights.

You could try aiming the headlights a little higher. Both my '04 and '06 were aimed too low from the factory. These would do wonders too.http://store.candlepower.com/bconibr90ulh2.html

try not to upgrade the wattage... you may overload the wiring harness and melt your wires or headlight housing. You can try what raven suggested and adjust your bulbs a bit. But honestly about the only true cure would be to upgrade to HIDs to the tune of about 250-300bucks

I don't know if you were referring to the bulbs I suggested but they are stock wattage.

keep in mind that your fog lights also go off when you turn on your highbeams unless you did the foglight/headlight modhttp://matrixowners.com/index.php?showtopic=31171

the fog lights only point very low anyhow, and the problem is at distance, they just don't spot enough for me, how do the new 09's compare for stock lighting?

Silverstars work for me. One went out after 12 months though. You can buy a harness for 30 bux and use the relays for the higher wattage bulbs, but they are not legal, just real bright. Don't ask how I know.Dan

my stock highbeams are perfectly fine, brighter then the low beams and pretty much twice as far
