There is a local dealership advertising '08 Vibes with ABS, Preferred Package and automatic transmission for $15,900 (this is a big ad in the paper). This price is with the $1250 rebate and $1000 Loyalty rebate back to dealer. We don't qualify for the Loyalty rebate, unfortunately. So, the salesman has stated the price would be $16,900 for us.Do you think it's still realistic to offer $15,900 or $16,000, given what they're advertising? I don't want to be unrealistic but I'd really like to get the Vibe for this price.

What is the MSRP? To calculate the invoice take the 1. base price x 0.945; 2. add the options x 0.88; 3. add the destination charge of $585; 4. add about $350 for regional adv and other fees. The dealer gets a holdback of 3% of the MSRP before destination charge but they are usually loathe to bargain away that.My guess is that $16,900 after rebate is about $500 under invoice.Sometimes there are incentives from the manufacturer that we don't see that make this possible.Since you don't have the added $1,000 from the loyalty rebate, with the lower price on the '09's that include antilock, stability control and side airbags standard, my advice would be to wait.
