Because Ford has gone and lost there minds...BMC (Black Mustang Club), a Ford based forum wanted to create a 2008 calendar of members rides that won ride of the month. However, in their infinite wisdom Ford said they owned the rights to the pictures and its copyright infringement, they even pulled off a picture of a Charger, whose owner is a member of the forum.

If they used pics Ford took, I can see copyright infringement...But if it's an image of which one of the car owners took, how the hell can that be considered copyright infringement? What's next, are they going to sue people who just see a Mustang because that's copyright infringement? You can not look at, photograph, or discuss this trademark!!!!We all know Ford is in need of serious cash right about now - maybe their big restructuring plan includes obtaining financing from frivolous copyright infringement lawsuits! Many years ago I was handling trademarks for the company that then owned CrackerJack. Someone wrote in and asked for permission to paint the CrackerJack name and Sailor Boy with dog Bingo design on his personal sailboat. I couldn't give him authorization to do that. I called the guy and told him that we were both going to forget he ever asked that question and to have fun decorating his boat.

thats a load of crap. even with the issue "worked out" I bet that still leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
