New Ride!

Snicker all you want but I now own a 1992 Nissan Hardbody 4x4 truck with a ka24e 4 banger and a 5 speed. Has anyone ever owned one of these? Its a rust bucket but it runs great and I actually enjoy driving it! I plan on getting some 31x10.5's on it and a small suspension lift and body lift to clear bigger ones later. Now I actually have an airborne capable vehicle unlike the vibe It needs lots of work though...I just put a muffler on it today and fixed the speedometer, i got it for 900 bucks if you couldn't tell by now

man hard bodys are some of the coolest trucks I had a 91 had body in-line 4 as well and that things is so light it would rip the tires off like no tomorrow I loved that truck I am looking forward to buying one when I have the chace just because they are that cool, just make sure you change out the timing belt and keep it maintained mine snapped the belt killed the oil pump locked up the motor over heated and pretty much made the crank warp so thats why I dont have it any more I fixed it all but didnt replace the crank and thats what the problem was and my mom tld me i had to sell it Have fun with it very cool truck like i said

hahah, that sucks man, well this one has 215k on it so i'm a little scared that somethings gonna break one day but for now everything is smooth as can be although it needs an exhaust gasket...

congrats on the new ride did you get to take your system outta the vibe??Quote, originally posted by wyatt89 »hahah, that sucks man, well this one has 215k on it so i'm a little scared that somethings gonna break one day but for now everything is smooth as can be although it needs an exhaust gasket...with the mileage being that high, you should also replace your muffler bearings. i'm sure they're worn out by now

what the heck is a muffler bearing? what on a muffler needs a bearing? Everything from the cat back has rusted off so im going to clamp on a cheap (removed) muffler i bought from checker for 25 bucks soon, its a cherry bomb turbo 2 (turbo my (removed) >_>) I'll try to get some pictures soon, its pretty ugly so dont make fun of me, i have no money.Sublime, I'll get you some so we can talk about what i should do with it, im thinking about removing the back seats (fold down from the sides) and making a small sealed enclosure with it so it still looks fairly stock and put a 6.5 coax back there. I still havent got around to calling kicker about my poor sub (i just got it titled today) and hopefully that will go in there eventually...i want to build a nice ported box for it, but if i get bored i might buy some crappy audiopipe 15's and wall the back as they have some spl comps around here

lol, i would have even less traction if i took the bed off...that would suck considering i dont think it has an lsd and its really icy up here right nowprerunner style? its 4x4...i found a nice skidplate for the front but its like $110 i also found a diff skid for the back that costs the same...if i had a mig i would make my own...sublime, ill get you some interior shots soon, the wind chill is somewhere between -30 and -60 today...i dont want to screw around outside...

Sure, pre-runner style.. 4x4 or not, cut out the fenders, mount a huge spare in the bed with some gas cans.. lift that sucker... widebody fenders and all.... Ahhhh, champaine dreams on a beer budget, we can dream though right?

lol, that looks cool on the newer tacomas but not really one these... i can make it a bit wider with some spacers and cut out the fenders when i get bigger tires. I want to get a prerunner bar for the front and put 3 6" lights on it, those look awesome! but i really would like a skidplate for the front since all the steering linkage is in front and exposed first im going to change the plugs though lol

Yeah, new plugs is prolly the best place to start, then you can get the GIANT coilovers... lol

If it was a Toyota and you took off the To Ta and made YO, I may have to come smack you. My buddy had that exact truck with the SE-V6 and a 5 speed. Fun little thing. He had the hardtop cover color matched. Looked nice.
