Drive axle seals, Vibe Gt 6 speed

Hi, guys! I'm new to the forum and Vibe ownership. I recently bought an '04 model that's in nice shape but needs a couple of seals. The left cv joint won't come out as a complete unit and I need to take the part that the boot attaches to. I think it's held in by a spring on the splined shaft but am not sure. Any ideas? By the way, this is the nicest site I have found for a car that I owned. Even better than the Citroen ones!
