Finally Hooked up my Wii to the internet

It's fun to look at the weather map and scroll around. My fiance picked up Guitar Hero III for me last night. Our local Circuit City just got 5 of them in stock like a half hour before we got there. I was up till about 1 playing it. Hit my goal for the evening of beating Slash and getting to play Guns n' Roses. Decorated my gibson with a few stickers (namely the GNR one) and had a problem putting it down for the night. Of course I'm only playing on easy, but if anyone wants to play (on easy at the moment) in a battle or something let me know, I tried looking for people last night but not many people were on that late.I also found instructions on how to use the second wii-mote as a guitar in the game so you can play H2H, can't wait for the second guitar to become available w/o having to buy another game.

I'm working on hooking my Wii to the internet. GH3 is very addicting. My f-i-l got Rock Band for X-mas and it is even more addicting than GH.p.s. I love my Wii it is freakin awesome

GH3 is pretty fun. Played it for the PS2. On easy mode of course lol. Was able to get mid 80% to 95% even for most songs first time I played. Which btw is the only time I played. I want to get our Wii hooked up to the internet at some point so I can purchase some of the classic games like Zelda Link to the Past and Donkey Kong Country 1 and 3.

I have the laptop set up on wifi while the others are plugged in. I have the house networked for another PC downstairs in the guest bedroom (used to be the media PC) and will eventually set up my old car PC in the garage (i don't care if it gets dirty). Basically, everything is set up on one system so.... I would say that my router is probably maxed to what I'd prefer in order to get the best bandwidth. As far as hooking up the Wii, that is already wifi, correct? I just need to add it to my network? I haven't bothered to check and read up on that part yet. Been a bit busy w/ the yr end for the business.

it really depends on your isp's speed you purchased. IE. a univ. has wifi all over but they run a T3 or Fiber line at 10mb so when 100 students use it to surf it wont be slow. When you run a residential line at 1.5mb or 3mb down and 500kbps up running 3 or 5 people at full load is going to crap your network up. But you have 5 pc's are they on the internet all at the same time all the time, maxing out the BW? Unless your having them download stuff or transfer things constantly you should be okay with tons of things connected just not active. I turned my wii's 24connect off, it keeps the wii crazy hot and well....i dont use the online features much. I think our house has...errr...5 consoles online, 6 pc's, 1 server, iphone and i think thats ohh....6 consoles. half of those are wifi so 14 things that use the net, but like i said maybe 3 or 4 are on at the same time and the network is rarely slow...and im pretty picky on my internet speeed...i had to get 8mb down 1mb up or id freak out hahha i cant get any faster I want a T1 but paying 1k a month isnt my idea of cheap. oh yeah...we have the modem, then a wifi router and then two switches off of that in each of our bedrooms hahah god im soo nerdy.Any who yes the wii will connect wifi no issue although i dont think its N so make sure your router if N has it on mixed mode for G. should be easy unless you dont broadcast your ssid, make sure you have that and any wpa or wep encryption ready when it asks for it.

I had no errors, it just connected right away. I'm using a Belkin 54G with a Motorolla unit for the wireless. According to my stats on my laptop it shows something ridiculous like excellent connection at 54mbps.I also have Optimum Online for my service. How did you even play hard. I just started on Medium and hitting that blue key is a lot harder than I though. Each time I hit it with my pinky I always get lost with my other fingers. Guess practice is in order.

When you go to the internet you are limited by your isp's speed which is usually under 10mbps, avgerage residential user is probably at 3 or 5mbps download.Dude i know!! i play medium and that pinky button totally messes me up. Most the time i forget i have a pinky! hahha tons of practice is needed, still awe strikes me how people do extreme.

I put "slow Ride" on Expert just to see it fly by. Holy Crap!!! I know for a fact I will never do that, unless I use my Easy Expert Code. I put most of the codes in the other night just to have them. I mostly use the all songs in quick play mode. But I am still missing a code. Apparently the Bret Michaels one doesn't work cause when I strum it in, nothing happens.I'm on two missions now, learn medium so I can still hit in the 90's. Currently I'm at 85 and 87 for the first two songs. And get nasty points on all Easy songs. I have like 3 or 4 perfect 100% songs so far, and personally I think the hardest song was the Slayer one towards the end. That is some tough stuff even in easy mode.Other topic, so I can transfer to another puter on my network at 54mpbs. Gotcha! Then the other one that says 10mbps as like receiving or something is what I am actually at. It does say 10 btw. Guess that's dang good. Sometimes it's even faster than my work computer.

I like the bonus song "My Curse" from Killswitch Engage. I got 95% on easy so I switched to medium and got about a 90%.

Is it true that so many people have problems with playing GH on anything but Easy? I got bored with the Easy mode after playing 1 1/2 songs. Medium is bearable. I usually get 95-98% on Hard and getting 80-90% on Expert. Come on people it isn't that tough.

Well it helps if you have some rear guitar skills or musical skills. A lot of the times the notes you need to press are in beat with the song. I don't even watch the screen and hit the note when it hits the circle, I was anticipating and hitting them without looking at th bottom of the screen. But I like listening to music and not butchered songs so easy mode for me lol

Oh I know how it works, just wasn't sure if the Wii was already Wifi compatible. And we have a 2.0 Mbps system. I already pay enough for internet as it is.... in most of my other locations and then some. 10 Mb connection = $300 plus taxes here and you MIGHT see half of that realistically... oh ya, and that's WITH bandwidth limitations here. And if you weren't aware of this, I am the largest reseller for Clearwire Wireless Internet in the state and one of the top 5 in PNW. I have to explain wifi and how our system works to people on a daily basis. Personally, I prefer our network over our competitors, besides the fact that I am a firm believer in using what you sell, but because we've used everyone else and they suck. We are limited here on services, so this works great because I can take it with me or around. I'll have to look and see what the instructions say on how to connect to my network, however, I think I have mine attached to MAC addresses....

It's def. that tough for me. Never picked up an instrument in my life. Not to mention it moves faster to the tune of the song. I wouldn't mind Easy speed with Medium keys for starters. I think another issue is that the keys are big and it gets my fingers sore moving around that much. I'm surprised they didn't put them lining up the way they are on a real guitar. Oh well, I guess this was easier somehow.I'm sure I'll pick it up with some more practice. I was able to get 97% on Dragonforce easy too. not to shabby.

Yeah some sets and combos I need to move my hand and that is where I get messed up. I guess I should start keeping my feel for that yellow tab with the nub on it like a phone has.

My bro plays numerous musical instruments; bass, violin, cello, viola, piano, guitar (6 & 12 string versions), banjo and mandolin to name a few, and is by far the worst at GH I have ever seen.

ok well I played guitar and know the melody to a lot of the songs I tried so it seemed simple to me. but I'm a freak lol

yeah knowing real guitar and gh are two diff things...many people i know who play real guitar dont like GH. Any who um i think if you know the song its easier too, because you know the beat and melody so you pick up when the notes will/would be. like if i dont know a song i forsure suck until i do it a lot, otherwise songs i know i can bob my head and jam along with out issue most the time.
