Monday I'm supposed to get 17 inch steel wheels and tires for my Rogue. I'm getting Toyo G02s(?)... I was told they're good, but what do I know. Anyone here know if they are?

I just took a quick look at them and they should be FINE... they look like they have some nice tech in them.... They kinda look like the Nokian tires my girl has on her Jimmy... I approveonly as long as you aren't getting HOSED on the deal.... what are you paying? and have you compaired it to other places packages?

I have compared, however a lot of places told me they didn't have any tires because they sold out weeks and weeks ago. But I can't help it that I'm getting them in January since I've only had the car for 3 weeks! I'm probably getting hosed somewhat, but at this point, I just need to find some! A friend paid about 200 less than me for 16 inch Blizzaks.How does that work with the tire pressure monitoring system anyway?

It depends which TPMS the Nissan has. Some systems are based on the ABS, others have sensors in the rims themselves. If this is the case you have to buy 4 new sensors and have them installed on the winter rims $$$. You can also put a piece of tape over the warning light for the winter. Since you are in Ottawa, you should look into buying your winters from tirerack.com or discounttiredirect.com and have them shipped to The UPS Store in Ogdensburg, 50 minutes away. You pay $5.00 per item pick up fee and PST and GST at the border, that's it. I've done this for a few years and usually save about 40% on wheels and tires. If you order wheels and tires, they mount and balance them for free. I donno about the TPMS, call Nissan...

If you have the TPMS on your vehicle and its valve stem based... it would be cheaper for now not to replace the rims with winter rims. Otherwise you will be buying rims, sensors, tires and then paying to have the new sensors programmed to the vehicle. Every spring and fall you'll be paying for a reprogram of the sensors when you change over your tires. Its simply cheaper to just remount and balance at this point. Now you could buy a winter tire set without sensors but most tire shops will not install them. At least in the states anyway its a government mandate for all 2008 and newer vehicles to have TPMS and disabling it is quite a fine. If the owner choses to, thats fine but its against the law for dealerships and shops to.I love my Hankook tires. Sure they have studs but if I had to go studless, I'd get a studless set also. Great tire.

Nissan usess a valve stem bassed sensor.

Sensors are $385.00 installed. What a scam!

Crap I forgot to ask if the price quoted to me included TPMS... it was a quote from the dealer I bought it at and it was a Rogue package. Guess I'll be making a phone call tomorrow.

Got the new Toyo G02 Observe Plus tires on Monday and finally had some snow and ice to use them on this morning. They were FANTASTIC!! I could really tell a difference with them. TPMS does not work with the new wheels so the indicator light stays on. Doesn't bother me - it will go off when I take the winter tires off in the spring.

yes! These ones are much better than the Vibe's snow tires too. I guess they should be since they're more expensive! In theory.
