Remove 100a Alternator Fuse?

My battery died on me due my own neglect (original battery). When a stanger (who happened to be a mechanic) tried to jumpstart me, we actually melted through the first set of jumper cables. I decided to get a new battery, and although it had plenty of power, it wouldn't turn over.So i went to checking the fuse box. The 100a alternator fuse is blown, but I cannot get it removed, is there a trick to it?

I had to take the battery and the airbox out so that I could flip over the fuse box and unbolt it. By the way, the bolts are two different sizes (go figure) I will attach some pictures this evening. see that thread, he has some pictures attached welcome to genvibe, let us know how the fuse replacement goes and if that fixes the problem. Do you think that mechanic crossed the cables when he tried to help?

Welcome!Yeah if the cables melted, then they were crossed, ie. they were neg to pos on both, instead of neg to neg and pos to pos.

I doubt anyone got anywhere if they were crossed, but MANY cables LOOK beefy and they simply aren't... Pulling 2-3-400 amps of current (start-up)through a set of 10g cables is a HUGE no no... Until the OP posts again, we'll only be speculating..
