I don't have M&T, but I have 6 speakers and an amp -- (removed)?

Do I have some strange oddball car? No 6-disc, no nav. Just the base HU, and the upgraded stereo. It's making for a hell of a mess now that i've replaced my HU, and hate the sound. I am looking at bypassing the amp, but I'm worried about the factory tweeters. Anyways has anyone seen this before?

see this thread http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=31216You could wire in a resister to help protect the tweeters from the low/mid range frequency.I have a sun and sound package with just a single disk...

You should be fine just wireing up the bypass, as the factory tweets have resisters in line. Most factory amplifiers do all xorevs at the speaker as it is cheaper on their part. The exception is like acura and lexus and the such that have dsp functions for 5.1 surround then everything is done in their amp.Aron

I think some Canadian models had different options.

I thought the 03 M&T's didn't come with sub--just the amp and 6 speakers.

I have an '03 GT. I have a moon roof and 6 speakers / single cd w/ amp. So do I have the moons & tunes? I would like to upgrade the head unit and the speakers but don't want to mess things up. Are the speakers on mine going to be 2 ohm? I got a set of Polk 6-3/4" that I want to put but don't want to put them in if there gonna sound like crap.

You have a canadian Vibe, so the Moon&Tunes or the Sun&Sound package doesn't exist in Canada. I think they start to put a 7th speaker (the sub) in the option group in 2005.I own a 2007 with 7 speakers and I have the standard HU, no 6 discs or NAV, but I have XM Satellite radio. They sound's great. Your amp is located under passenger seat if you're looking to do mods.

How would I have a Canadian Vibe? I've seen the amp under the passenger seat. If I want to get new speakers though I'll need to get 2 ohm? And what should I do if I want a new headunit?

Anyways has anyone seen this before? You need to put a line-level converter between your aftermarket amp and the factory amp. Else it sounds like crap. Do a search and poke around, you'll find several postings on this.

I've done the whole install with running wire before. It turned out pretty good but it took me a whole Saturday to do. Defiantly not going to happen with this cold weather though. Is there a way to hook up another amp under the seat there. It doesn't look like it would be easy with those wiring harness, probably have to convert the factory connections to rca's? Reason I'm wondering is I have 4 x 100 watt amp sitting at home that I used to use on my subs.

Well, again, your best be would be to just re-wire, rather than messing with the factory connections, I mean unless you don't care to ever return it to stock, then you could just wire to the stock amp and pick up the speakers wires there... which could be an easy way to go... It all depends on you and what you want to do...
