Work?

As many of you know by now, both BlueCrush and myself are out of work. Blue, I wish you the best in finding something. I do have good news on this for me. I received 2 job offers today. Unfortunetly, neither of them are starting yet. I have been an optician for a few years now and a new optical store is opening up here in 5 months. They offered me the position, but won't have work for me for 5 months. The other is an established optical practice, where both the employees happened to give their notice at the same time. However, they won't be leaving until February. Again, won't have work for me for couple months. My father-in-law owns a transmission shop here, and offered to let me work for him for a while, or I can go deliver phonebooks for a couple months.

Congrats on the job offers. Personally I would take up the one in February, work at it for a few and when the other one is open, see what they offer you in comparison and you can always switch. Not worth waiting it out. In the meantime, go do some work at the Tranny shop, that is a huge plus for you and it's awesome your father in-law is willing to help you out like that. Now we just need to find BC a job.

I will probably work for the office starting in Feb. It pays less than half of the other one, so I will do that for a couple months before changing to the new office. This is the drawback to the tranny shop. My f-i-l is my best friend. We are there all the time on weekends playing with our toys. I love working on cars when it isn't something I HAVE to do, and I'm not sure I would be able to put up with him 24-7.Don't get me wrong, I'm very thankful that he would offer that much help to me.
