My father has a Pontiac Montana and he has some major repair to be done on it. It has only 32 000km (20 000 miles) and when he went to his last oil change, it had engine coolant in the oil. So the motor head gasket broke. He called the GM roadside assistance, they towed the Montana to the dealer. It will take few days to fix it, so they gave my father a courtesy car. I was sure they will loan him a Cavalier or something like that.I was very surprise to see what they gave him. I fall on my (removed)...Take a look at the courtesy car.....

I doubt the dealer will agree with this change. Trading a 2001 Montana for this..... The rental car has 400km (240 miles) on the counter. It is fully loaded, haeted leather seat, OnStar system (which does not work where my parents are living), electric everything. When I started it for a road trip, the computer advised myself about possible icing!!!!

Holy crap!!! Now that is impressive. I didn't think that GM bothered to program the computer that way. Wow!

You would think that car companies would do that more often. I mean, if they "loan" you the top of the line car, that is like the best advertising they can get. Who knows, some people who bring their cars in for service or have major break-downs might want to trade up now that they got a "taste of how the other side lives".Its like an extended test drive for a prospective buyer.

I took my Ford in to the dealership for yet another recall, and they gave me a 1981 Ford LTD with a heater core leak. The fumes from the antifreeze nearly killed me. I wasn't exactly impressed. When my Vibe's been at the dealership, I've gotten 2 different cars ... one 1/2 ton truck with bald tires & no weight in the back, and a Cavalier with nothing for options. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate getting a courtesy car, but dealerships should remember that, considering my car is in for service, perhaps I might be in the market for something else.
