I knew it was a kind of hard-to-get item, but this is almost crazy.http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3164437And according to this report, they sold 350,00 last week.http://kotaku.com/gaming/black...7.phpI just want to get Guitar Hero3 for my boy's PS3, and there is none to be found.

I had to camp out overnight for my Wii last year.My Mom wanted one this year, and I did not think I would be able to find one, but on my trip to Iowa last week we got the last one at a local WalMart (before Black Friday). I would at least ask your retailer(s) if they have some in the back while you are there. I have never seen one on a store shelf, but they have them in the back sometimes.

I wasn't even really shopping for one, but bought one through Amazon on Thanksgiving day for $79 thanks to their 'customer vote' promotion. Only 1,000 people were selected to get them for that price. We got it delivered yesterday, but our son is already getting a PS3 from Santa, so the Wii will be saved for his birthday in January.

The wife and I will be standing in line at Best Buy this sunday for the next shipment of them. She wants a new one to sell at christmas... already bought a hardly used one for herself.

Got my Wii one Sunday morning at about 8am standing outside Circuit City. Got one of the 11 they got in. Wii's are not supposed to be readily available on shelves until next summer. A lot of stores, stopped selling the Wii to build up inventory prior to Black Friday. But they are all out once again. Stores typically get around 7 or so each month, and they are gone in 15-20 minutes. My fiance had to flirt with the guy at CC on the phone to find out when they were getting them in.

Nintendo has already announced that this will be the LAST shipment sent until after Christmas. So the stores should see them arriving Sunday through the end of next week. I have a few contacts at the Best Buy so I know when I need to be there even if they may not actually HAVE them in (due to a shipping delay), to ensure I get a ticket for when they do come in.I got mine slightly used from a friend, with 2 extra games, controller, nunchuk for $275. That's a steal compared to how much others are selling. I plan to sell the new one about 10 days before Christmas.... but for a somewhat reasonable price, not the $700+ prices like some of these people!

I thought it was just canada that was having problems keeping them in stock. Drove down to north dakota about two months ago and everywhere from gamestop to wally world had them in stock. If anyone is seriously looking for one, I had a line on one about a week ago that might still be live. The price was a bit inflated (by about $20).Also, costco.ca had them online (don't know if they still do) with guaranteed shipping. Stood in line (at 4am) for mine a week or two after launch with a camp chair, a can of bear spray, and a buddy of mine who's about 200 lbs of muscle outside a Zellers in a very sketchy neighbourhood. Left the store after buying it to be greeted by a guy prentending to be on the phone with his Acura running near the exit

Ok, I know people will dissagree with me, but..... the wii is stupid. I love video games, but I do not love flailing my arms around like an idiot. Unless I'm drunk... then I might be able to find some amusement out of it. That and the fact that I am somewhat of a graphics (removed), and the wii looks to last-gen for me.

It's basically the gamecube hardware with a new controller. Nintendo never denied this or tried to make it compete in the graphics department. They spent all the R&D on the motion sensitive controllers.Quote, originally posted by ajflan »but I do not love flailing my arms around like an idiot. So flail your arms like a normal person The controller is what you make it. It's got a relitavely small sensing area, so if you want to play golf sitting on the couch only moving the controller 2 inches (like one of my buddies), you can. If you want to run all over the entire living room playing tennis, you can. Quote, originally posted by ajflan »Unless I'm drunk... then I might be able to find some amusement out of it. Well when you're drunk it's just a hoot.

I didn't mean to sound so harsh. I will admit that the wii is fun to play socially. I just would never buy one for my personal use thats all. Rock on, gamers!

oh i'm waiting still. i got a few games that my buddy gave me with it, like madden football (not a football fan so i don't really care) and bass fishing or something along with wii play and extra remote. came with the sports disc too. I've picked up a game or two for phil for christmas and on Black Friday, picked up RE4 and Brunswick bowling. I want the Wii Playground since it has dodgeball. :D maybe a few games to play when we have people over as well.

Party games:rayman raving rabbids 1 and 2Warioware - almost a must this game is sweetMario party 8RE4 is sweet and the RE:UC is a good rail shooter. You should for sure read reviews on gamestop or ign about games before you purchase them as there has been some disappointing purchases in my past, seriously there are not that many good games yet for it.excite truck was awesome, zelda if you want a good story (ive never played zelda before and i love this game), warioware is just hilarious...if you need game recommendations just pm me I have a ton of games hahha

I have mixed feelings on it. I was going to buy one at launch, just as I bought my GC at launch, but about a week before our car got totalled and we bought this sweet little car instead So it's worked out in the end for me anyway.I'll get one someday...maybe when they do an incremental HD supporting upgrade for it.

Posted: Mon Dec 03, 2007 9:37 am
by northvibe
there will never be a HD upgrade for the wii...it does 480p widescreen, the only upgrade i see are a dvd playback and maybe a hard drive add on.paper mario is fun, its like mario from nes, but you can flip in 3d as well. otherwise mario galaxy = awesome. brawl is delayed until feb 08 though I got ghost squad (arcade rail shooter) its fun if you like rails. but seriously warioware you HAVE to get, when we have a bunch of people we just play it as single player, but every mini game we just pass it around. the real multiplayer is sorta lame cuz it uses 1 remote and is slow to load for passing around.

Yeah, don't wait for the Wii to get upgraded. They may repackage it someday, but there's not going to be an HD upgrade. Nothing wrong with owning a Vibe though!

the wii has the ablility already to play dvd, if it is modified with a modchip. But I think nintendo didnt want to license the codec to use to play the dvd movies....hence our lack of dvd movie support :/
